Brand new month, brand new semester, and brand new scholarships that I have found for those of you who are wanting to save your souls from college debt! Relatively recently, the College Board has opened up their Opportunity Scholarships for the Class of 2022. The CB's scholarships are a wonderful opportunity for those eligible and planning to go to college, as the steps to apply and be able to receive these scholarships pave the way and prepare you for college applications Senior year. The scholarships are based on six college planning steps, each giving an individual a chance to earn 500 dollars (per completed step) with the bonus of being entered into a drawing for a 40,000 dollar scholarship! All of these scholarships can be used at four-year or two-year colleges.
To access these scholarships, you must first create a College Board account; which you can do with the embedded link above. After that, a glance at the picture on the left will show the location of the Opportunity Scholarships. Location 1 is where one would click first and then Location 2 will lead to the section of the CB website with the Opportunity Scholarships. Once opened there will be a form that must be read.
It goes over the specifications of the program, rules, eligibility, deadlines. But before one takes the time to go over the relatively long process of reading the form I will save you all time by giving the eligibility description. "The College Board Opportunity Scholarships program is currently open to class of 2022 students in the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories, regardless of citizenship status. U.S. citizens and residents attending Department of Defense Education Activity schools abroad may also participate. The program is also open to class of 2021 until the end of February, 2021. "
The only people that should be concerned with non-eligibility are the "Children or wards of (a) employees, officers and trustees of Sponsor, Khan Academy and their affiliates, agents or representatives; (b) Program’s advertising and promotion agencies, if any, as well as (c) household members of (a) and (b), whether or not related, are not eligible to receive Scholarships as part of this Scholarship Program." Besides that exception. these scholarships are fair game to all; highly beneficial, and with a possible high yield reward. It would be foolish to pass them up; please consider watching the video to the right before setting off to make some academic bank. Once again, remember to use the form at the bottom of the page to provide some feedback, and until next time, work hard--and good luck!
