The Grunge Aesthetic
Grunge is a darker, edgier fashion these days that is generally depicted with vinyl records, cigarettes, neon lights, and the color black. Grunge trend is characterized by using long lasting and timeless thrift keep clothing, frequently worn in a loose, sometimes androgynous manner to de-emphasize the silhouette. The style was once popularized by bands Nirvana and Pearl Jam. The look and fashion had been a section of a broader subculture, which was supported by using the grunge music genre. As such, musicians were pioneers of this aesthetic, which featured a careless, tough, and round the edges appearance. The trademarks of grunge encompasses heavy layering, flannel shirts, Doc Martens, ripped denim, band t-shirts, beanies, and slouchy sweaters. Generation X's lack of conformity indicates itself through grunge fashion for some people. Messy hair, careless makeup, flannel shirts and vintage items are staples of the grunge wardrobe. Grunge trend is all about going away from the norm. The grunge way of life is about individuality. It is filled with people who desire to be regarded for their phrases and work alternatively of doing what is predicted of them. Through their fashion, they show this philosophy. They keep away from spending too much time on grooming and desire an appearance that breaks the molds of society. They combine new pieces with retro or vintage styles and keep away from chasing commercial tendencies and try to put off themselves from the pitfalls of capitalism.

Grunge is an alternative style, which speaks volumes for your individuality. The 90s live on through these different styles that came from the grunge revolution.
