A Place to Highlight The Students and Staff at Fruita Middle School!!!
Photo and Story By Mrs. Morgan, Fruita Feed Advisor
Dear Fruita Feed Staff,
It’s hard to believe our semester is coming to a close, and what a memorable one it has been. In just a few months, you built something remarkable. You learned new skills, created a vision, gave it a name, and brought our newsroom to life with creativity, laughter, and a surprising number of unforgettable moments. I am incredibly proud of each of you and grateful for the support shown by our entire FMS community.
This is my 14th year teaching at Fruita Middle School, and I continue to be amazed by the talent that fills these classrooms. I wanted that talent to be recognized and celebrated, which is why I believed a student newspaper would be a meaningful addition to our school. I was not disappointed. Even as I learned alongside you, I watched you find your voices and share stories that mattered.
Journalism is a “slow burn.” It requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to revise again and again. You demonstrated all of that. You didn’t just write articles—you created a newspaper from the ground up. A successful one. A newspaper with heart, humor, and a genuine desire to connect people. I will always be grateful for this pioneering group of journalists who made the Fruita Feed a reality.
As we head into the holidays, I hope you all find time to rest, enjoy family, and take pride in what you built. You’ve helped create something that reflects the spirit of FMS—curious, creative, and full of community.
A heartfelt thank you to:
FMS PTO: Thank you so much for hearing our plea and donating digital cameras. The students have so enjoyed being able to have multiple cameras out at one time and learning how to take great pictures. Your generosity is much appreciated as is the work you do for FMS students.Â
Mrs. Katie Bosio:
Your dedication ensures every issue reaches our readers through Friday Facts, the FMS website, and Facebook. You work behind the scenes with the reliability of a true superhero, and we are endlessly grateful for your time and support.
FMS Teachers and Administrators:
Thank you for believing in our vision, welcoming interviews, sharing your perspectives, and helping us share each issue with students. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and your commitment to building a culture of belonging at FMS.
FMS Students:
Thank you for your stories, your interviews, your feedback, and for reading what we create. This newspaper exists because of you.
Thank you, Zion Aragon, Kaydee Austin, Korbin Carillo, Savannah Chynoweth, Brystal Dawes, Titus, Dedduang, Miette Fox, Audrey Funk, Katie Gribble, Rylynn Gustafson, Bentley Hammond, Lee HIll, Carter McComb, Kyrie Miller, Charli Murphy, Lucille Pedersen, Kinley Prock, Rilynn Reigles, Scarlett Rosier, Deonnah Sandel, Owen Snyder, AJ Wade, Harlow Wilson, Emma Zamora, for a semester of incredible work, growth, and purpose. I cannot wait to see what the next team creates—but this first staff will always hold a special place in the history of the Fruita Feed.
With appreciation,
Mrs. Morgan

Who is Curtis Steele? You might know his name, but this article is finally going to tell you the true, the story about the real person behind the legend.Â
Curtis is a 13-year-old who likes American football. His favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys. His favorite activity to do outside of school is four-wheeling.Â
Curtis says his favorite snack is burritos and his favorite thing to do at school is, well, leaving it. Out of all his teachers, his favorite teacher is Mrs. Beach. His all-time go-to movie is The Dukes of Hazzard, and his favorite show is Yellowstone. Â
Thank you Curtis for letting us get to know you a little better. We love seeing Curtis at FMS!

What are we actually doing for Christmas break? Christmas break is 2 and a half weeks long. How are we going to spend that time? I interviewed Isabella Dixon about what she is doing for Christmas break.
I first asked Isabella to tell me a little about herself, and she said "I'm 12, I guess? I like tacos and my favorite color is royal blue” then I started to ask her about Christmas break. I asked her; Christmas break is coming, How do you feel about that?" She said "I'm excited for Christmas"
I then asked her; What are you doing for Christmas break? She told me "We’re going somewhere, our parents are surprising us” After I asked her; Are you hoping to get anything in particular for Christmas? She said "A pink four wheeler" I then asked her; Are you going to be doing any Christmas shopping? She explained "Yes, a lot. I wanna buy my brother light up Christmas socks. He has a lot of them" Then I asked her; Where do you hope to go for Christmas Break? Which she told me “Alaska. All my family is from there. I haven't seen them in a while. And i like the snow, i build igloos with them”
That was all the questions I had for Isabella, I wished her a good day and walked back to the newsroom. As it turns out, some students can be very busy during Christmas break.

Owen is a comic writer at our school, FMS.Â
Why do you like to write comics?
Owen's reply: “Because they are fun.”
Do you want to write comics in the future?
Owen's answer: “Yeah.”
What is your favorite comic you have written?
Owen says with a smile: “The man who thought he was in Paris."
Do you like this class? If so, why?
Owen explains: “Yes, because, I like to read comics.”
Korbin Carrillo
8th Grade Story Writer
Korbin writes good stories; he wrote two sports, one fake news story and a student spotlight. One of the newest ones he has written is in the fake news category. It is about Mcdonalds in Antarctica. He likes it because it is about "Mcdonalds."Â Read his story to find out if it is true.
