As of 11/19/25, students battled FMS teachers and staff in a basketball game at the end of the day. How it went is crazy.

At 2:10 FMS students started filling the gym for the student vs staff basketball game. The stands we're filled with 8th graders, 7th graders, and 6th graders. The crowd roared as student council members picked up the microphone. And soon after they were introducing staff, who were running through a tunnel created by other students. Moments later, all the staff were introduced the basketball game started. 

The 7th grade team was playing against the staff first. The staff got the ball first and ran down the court for a play. The staff scored first with a layup. It was then the students ball, they tried to run down the court to get a shot at scoring, but the ball was stolen by a player on the staff team and was taken up to the student side for a 2 pointer. With the students ball again it was taken up to the 3 point line where it was stolen again by a FMS staff member. And taken up for 2 points by the staff.

Basketball just ended for the boys, but now it's the girls' turn! Girls have their first game on December 8th. They have practice every day after school. A team has an additional practice on game days, mornings, and Fridays, with the 8th graders.

Practices:

• There are condition stations: 

1) Running to the half-court baseline and free throw, 

2) Doing jump squats, wall sit, and pushups.

3) There is ball handling and techniques to handle a ball.

• At the end of practice, we have the colors of the teams, so we can scrimmage on 5 and 5 to get the experience.

• Warm up: First off is Frankinsigns, scoops, Flamingos, side-to-side stretches, and karaoke.
