Wredling Band Program

This AUDITIONED ensemble is for music students that are involved in the WMS Band program during the school day.  The ensemble rehearses and performs music that is at a much higher technical and musical level than the school day groups.  The group performs a few concerts at the North and East High School as well as area festivals. Auditions for the ensemble are held at the beginning of the school year. Interested musicians are encouraged to audition!

Membership in the Jazz Ensemble is by AUDITION.

The Jazz Ensemble  rehearses and performs our truly American music: Jazz.

The group performs at WMS, our High Schools and at Music in the Parks Competition at Six Flags. The Jazz Ensemble competes at district and state music contests. The Jazz Ensemble has won high honors at state contest numerous times. We rehearse on Monday and Wednesday  mornings before school from 7:00-7:45am.

Jazz XP is an outstanding opportunity for band and orchestra students to learn about jazz, rock, Latin and pop styles of music.  Every popular music on the radio today can be traced back to jazz and the type of music we play in jazz band!  In addition, students will learn all about composing music on the spot, called improvisation!  This fantastically fun and enlightening group is open to all band, string, and experienced keyboard students.
