Welcome to Team 8-3 Social Studies! I am so excited to be working with your families. This is my 12th year teaching social studies. I taught at Haines Middle School for 9 years prior to becoming a Thompson Teacher. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education from North Central College and a master's degree in educational leadership from Concordia University. My family includes my wife Samantha and a "very spoiled" Shih Tzu/poodle mix named Bentley. My wife is an oncology nurse at the Delnor Cancer Center. We welcomed our first child, a son named Owen, on August 23, 2018.

In addition to teaching, I also advise the Thompson Middle School Student Council, Coach Cross Country, and serve as the Team 8-3 Team Leader. Outside of school, I love to play golf and travel. Some of my favorite destinations include: Shanghai, Prague, Sedona, Cape Cod, and Cabo San Lucas.
