Curricularly, blended learning courses mirror the classroom standards but differ instructionally by providing personalized, authentic, responsive and competency-based learning for all interested students. The blended learning courses require a shift in student mindset and practice, positioning students to take control of their learning, apply skills, promote time management, and build confidence.
The staff scaffolds learning, providing more face-to-face instruction at the beginning of the course and gradually releases students, resulting in a balance of classroom face-to-face instruction and digital/flexible learning. The learning focuses on providing students the opportunity to explore related topics, to deepen understanding and help students reach their full potential. Designated learning spaces throughout the building are accessible for the blended learning students during their flexible days.
The blended learning courses span most departments and are offered in the traditional structure as well. Courses offered as blended are noted in the course descriptions. Student enrollment will determine if the courses will run for the school year, new courses continue to be added each year. Students interested in participating in blended learning courses should speak with their counselor.
