United States Bicentennial Celebration: 200 Years Old

Mrs. Burige suggests learning about The United States 200th birthday. I remember in Middle School, during my 7th grade year,  in my sewing class we made t-shirt with "Spirit of  1776 to 1976" on it.  We had to wear our T-shirts in a Spring parade to the song Yankee Doodle Dandy (to this day I can not listen to that song.)

Recommended by Mrs. Marquis~ This book was inspired by the young hero Malala Yousafzai. It is about a young Pakistan girl who faces societal oppression and is forced into indentured servitude. The novel focuses on the importance of education and female empowerment. It is suspenseful, thought provoking, and empowering. 

"Yuletide Bangerz" - Jonwayne

Mr. Schamrowski suggests Jonwayne's holiday album.

This is an incredible album made by Rapper/Producer Jonwayne. Jonwayne samples some classic Christmas songs and reworks them adding his distinct hip-hop style to create one of the ALL TIME CHRISTMAS albums. This is an instant classic played in the Schamrowski household during the holiday season.
