SAT
SAT
The SAT is a college admission exam. The SAT is composed of two sections: the Reading and Writing section and the Math section. Each section is divided into two equal length modules, and there is a 10-minute break between the Reading and Writing section and the Math section. The first module of each section contains a broad mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Based on how you perform on the first module, the second module of questions will either be more difficult or less difficult.
College Board recommends students register for the SAT online after creating a free account. A College Board account allows students to register for the SAT, get and send their SAT scores to colleges, complete financial aid packages, and apply online to colleges.
Weekend SATs
The SAT is offered seven times a year in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December.
The weekend SAT exam will not be administered at Niles West High School. To find a testing site near you, click HERE.
It takes 2-4 weeks after the test date to receive your SAT test scores--plan on taking the SAT at least 4 weeks before any college application deadlines.
Fees
The SAT costs $68. Fee waivers are available. To receive a fee waiver code, follow the directions on the Fee waivers website or contact your school counselor.
