ACT
ACT
The ACT is a curriculum based, multiple choice exam that is normally taken by high school juniors and seniors. The ACT consists of multiple-choice tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. A 45 minute optional writing test is also available, which shows a student's skills in planning and composing a short essay. A student's performance on these tests has a direct relationship to his or her educational performance and college readiness. Your scores will be based only on the number of questions that you answer correctly; there is no penalty for guessing. Try to answer every question within the time allowed for each section.
The ACT will be offered at Niles West High School for 11th graders in the Spring. This test is MANDATORY for all 11th graders and is a graduation requirement.
Weekend Test and Registration Dates
The weekend ACT is offered seven times a year in April, June, July, September, October, December, and February.
The weekend ACT exam will not be administered at Niles West High School. Click here to find a testing center near you.
Students can register for the exam directly online with ACT by logging onto www.actstudent.org and creating a personal ACT web account. Through this account, students also have the ability to view their scores and send up to four free score reports to various colleges. Advance registration for testing is required.
