Daily Schedule
The school day is divided into 9 periods of 42 minutes. Every student will be assigned a 10-minute homeroom that will occur after period 3.
All freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior students shall be scheduled no less than 300 minutes per day with a certificated teacher. This means that every student will be scheduled into no less than five regular courses, plus physical education and the addition of study periods to meet the minimum requirement. No more than 100 minutes shall be counted for a cooperative vocational education (CVE) work station.
Open/Closed Hall Policies and Procedures
North: Halls are closed periods 1-9 except for the 1000, 1100, 1200, and 1300 hallways during lunch periods.
West: Halls are closed periods 1-9 except for the Student Services-Guidance hallways, Hall of Honor, and stairwell to the IRC, during lunch periods.
Please Note: The Hall Policy may be changed at any time during the school year.
A quiet atmosphere must be maintained without noise, movement, or any other activity that would be distracting or disruptive to a classroom activity. Disruptive noise would be considered any noise loud enough that it might be heard in a classroom.
Standing or stopping outside classroom doors (visible inside of the classroom), in washrooms, or in stairwells is prohibited.
Sitting on the floor in the hallways, stairwells, washrooms, or on heating units in the halls at any time is prohibited.

The school is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal property brought to school or to a school activity. Students are advised not to bring valuables to school. Be sure lockers are fully locked. Engraving of calculators, computers and other valuables is recommended. Complimentary engraving can be done in the Math Office.
Lost and Found Center
There is a Lost and Found Center for students in the Security Office at Niles West and by Door 12 at Niles North. Lost books and personal items can be retrieved from these locations. Students are encouraged to report stolen items to the Security Office.
