Initial Transcript: Transcript with grades for all semesters completed when you apply (usually through junior year if you apply in fall of senior year).
Mid-Year Transcript: Transcript with first semester senior year grades. (Will be sent via SchooLinks starting with the Class of 2026 in mid-January.)
Final Transcript: Transcript with all senior year grades and proof of graduation. (Will be sent via SchooLinks starting with the Class of 2026 in mid-June.)
Unofficial Transcript: Transcript that a student can download and send on their own. This is not sent from a school official but is still accepted for scholarships and some college admissions.
Self-Reported Transcript: This is when you, the student, will physically enter (type in) every course and grade you have taken throughout high school into a college's application or portal. Only the student can do this by referencing the most recent unofficial transcript (that you can access in Infinite Campus).
Colleges and scholarship organization may require your transcript courses and grades in one of the following ways:
Official Transcript: Submit a request through SchooLinks only!
For college applications, transcripts will be automatically requested once the college's application is added to the College Application Manager (either manually or via the connection to Common App).
For other transcript requests, such as scholarships or the NCAA/NAIA Eligibility Center, you will go to School -> Record Requests -> Send official transcript.
Self-Reported: See next section for more information on self-reported transcripts.
Parchment: Parchment is a website that will be used by ALUMNI ONLY to request their Hersey transcript, as well as Dual Credit partner colleges (any student). Parchment should NOT be used for current high school students to send your high school transcript unless otherwise told to do so. If you have questions about Parchment, please contact our Registrar, Mrs. Schwichtenberg, at carole.schwichtenber@d214.org.
This includes requesting transcripts for NCAA, NAIA, and scholarships!
Some colleges do not want an official transcript sent from the high school but instead require the student to enter every course and grade from their transcript into the college application. (TIP: Find your transcript in your Infinite Campus account. See below!)
Here is a website that keeps track of all colleges that require a self-reported transcript (not an exhaustive list).
There are 3 main places you may be asked to self-report your transcript:
Common App: If any college you have added to your list wants a self-reported transcript through Common App, a section in the Common App tab will appear called "Courses & Grades."
STARS (Formerly SRAR/SSAR): If a college you are applying to wants your self-reported transcript through this site, you will complete it here and then send it to any colleges that use site as well. (Kind of like a "Common App" for self-reported transcripts.)
College's Portal: Some colleges, like the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), require students to self-report their transcript in their own portal. UIUC, although you may apply in Common App, will not use the "Courses & Grades" option and still require you to submit in their own portal. Make sure to read emails and check portal "to-dos" to see if this is a requirement.

Class of 2025: FINAL transcripts, indicating graduation, will not be sent out until mid-June.
Class of 2026: Official transcripts will not be ready to be sent until after Labor Day and will NOT be through Parchment! More info will be given when students return in August.
Any issues with your Parchment account must be directed to our registrar, Mrs. Schwichtenberg at carole.schwichtenber@d214.org.
To access your unofficial transcript from your iPad, please see THESE DIRECTIONS.
PLEASE NOTE: Dual Credit/College transcripts are typically NOT required to be submitted during the college application process. You may see a "missing" item of your college transcript in your portal, but colleges normally do NOT need this transcript since the course is on your high school transcript - so ignore it! Dual credit transcripts are only required to be sent to the college you attend once you commit to that college in May.
All students who took a Dual Credit course will have to order their transcript from the specific college (Harper, EIU, etc.) they earned dual credit from to be sent to the college they are attending in the Fall (unless it happens to be the same school).
Class of 2025 alumni should look for an email from teachingandlearning@d214.org on April 16, 2025 with Dual Credit information. Your Dual Credit info can be found in the Dual Credit tab in your Infinite Campus (which includes college ID numbers).
See this document for college-specific processes (this includes alumni).
You must follow the directions and contact the college directly if you have issues ordering your transcript. These are not our (Hersey’s) grades/courses/transcripts, and due to FERPA laws we are unable to contact the college on your behalf.
