Space Renovations for Integration of SAIL Activities in the Curriculum

Programs wishing to renovate an existing departmental space for SAIL may request funding.


To qualify for funding, departments must meet the following requirements:

  • The program must have piloted a research, design, or professional project in one or more introductory course sections and collected and analyzed a preliminary round of assessment data (may be concurrent with pilot application)

  • There must be demonstrated use of the space for the purposes of CUREs and CURE related activities greater than 50% of the time during the academic year.

  • The proposal must describe options within the department’s existing spaces for any displaced courses due to the renovations.

  • Technology renovations must be designed and implemented in collaboration with Academic Technology staff.

  • Interdepartmental collaborations are encouraged.

Application:


Department Heads provide a project description that includes:

  • The room(s) you are considering renovation

  • The SAIL programming that will utilize the renovated space

  • The limitations of existing space for supporting student success

  • The renovations that your department has imagined for the space

  • Applications will be reviewed and receive a response within ten days.
