As we enter the Implementation phase of our SAIL funding, please consider these three opportunities.
All courses with embedded projects are invited to present their work at the SAIL Showcase offered at the end of the fall and spring semesters. This year’s showcase will occur on Thursday, April 30th, 2026. Our Fall 2025 SAIL Showcase was highlighted in the Duluth News Tribune!
SAIL funds are used to cover poster printing costs. All posters must be submitted by 5pm on Thursday, April 23rd to be printed in time for the Showcase.
All types of presentations are encouraged, including demonstrations, displays, posters, and more.
The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, January 13th, 2026.
SCSE faculty deliver innovative curricula across our ten departments whether they have been funded by SAIL or not.
We are working to tag courses that align with at least five of the ten SAIL characteristics as a SAIL experience. These courses will be highlighted on a website that we will use to promote SAIL to prospective students and draw potential donors to your teaching and research programs.
To identify your course as a SAIL experience, complete this quick application describing how your course aligns with at least five of the ten SAIL characteristics.
Courses that have already been supported by SAIL funding are tagged as SAIL courses already and do not need to complete this step.
Funds are available to align an existing or new course with the SAIL characteristics. Funds can be used for faculty stipends ($1000/faculty/course, up to a maximum of three courses), support for student workers helping in the design of the course, and for equipment and supplies.
