Summer session is a demanding and challenging term, as a number of required CSD courses are offered only in the summer. There are no graduate degree requirements to complete during the summer session, other than completing the required graduate coursework.
Summer is filled with a variety of interesting and intensive short courses. Summer is different from the regular academic semester schedule. You immerse yourself in a subject for a few weeks, and then you move on to the next subject to repeat the process. Summer academics demand full-time commitments from students. Plan to invest your time in your academics this summer. You will need this knowledge for working with clients in your second year.
This is a good time to finalize your degree plan and oral examination committee, if you were unable to complete this process in the preceding spring semester. You should also have your Plan B project well underway by this time.
VALT access to digital recordings of clients and ClinicNote access to client records terminate after students complete on-campus internships and are no longer registered for on-campus internship experiences.
If you need continued access to view VALT and/or ClinicNote documents after the Spring Semester of your first year, please complete this survey at the end of Spring semester.
All clearances for fall internships should be completed early in the summer. Any intervention plans must be successfully completed before fall semester in order for internships to start on time.
