General Information
Internships assist students in further exploring their career interest by providing exposure to real world work environments. The Central York Internship is a structured program that builds on the student's course of study. Students will observe professionals in a specific industry and may have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities. The experience is also intended to improve employability skills through mentoring and coaching.
Internships are overseen by Central’s Workforce Readiness Coordinator and a Worksite Host. Together the internship team will work with the student to identify learning objectives for the internship experience. Students are assessed on their work performance.
***Internships must be pre-approved and coordinated through the Career Center in order to obtain academic credit.
***Interns are required to adhere to worksite policies for their internship host which may include background checks, screening, and dress code requirements.
Interested students should complete the following process:
Step 1- Make sure that your SmartFutures activities are up-to-date and then complete a Pre-Internship Questionnaire. Click here to download the Pre-Internship Form.
Step 2-- Email or deliver the completed survey to the career center assistant lrojahn@cysd.k12.pa.us. Once the completed survey is received, you will have the opportunity to schedule an appointment with Ms. Lamison.
Step 3-- Meet with the Ms. Lamison, the program director, to discuss career direction and available opportunities.
