The Cadet Staff is the backbone of our NJROTC program, made up of motivated student leaders who plan, organize, and lead the unit’s activities. With roles like Commanding Officer and Executive Officer, they ensure smooth operations, mentor peers, and uphold the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. Their dedication keeps the unit running smoothly.
The Commanding Officer (CO) in the Hawthorne NJROTC unit is the cadet leader who oversees everything to keep the unit running smoothly. They work with the staff to plan events, encourage teamwork, and make sure everyone is on track. The CO is there to guide and support fellow cadets while setting a good example. Their goal is to help the unit grow, ensure everyone feels included, and make NJROTC a positive and successful experience for all cadets.
Cadet LCDR Gabby Aguilar
The Executive Officer (XO) of the unit in Hawthorne NJROTC is the second in command and works closely with the Commanding Officer to help manage the unit. The XO is responsible for ensuring everything is organized with the staff and ensuring that everything is completed on time. The XO is there to help any cadet answer issues, help them to find solutions, and support them while they succeed. The XO essentially supports the operations, delegates tasks and helps build a foundation for the unit to run smoothly and grow.
Cadet LT Kyel Tun
The Operations Officer (OPS) is the third in command for our unit. The OPS is responsible for the planning, organizing, coordination of all unit events and activities. On a daily basis, they ensure that everything is in place, whether we are going to competition or helping out in community service events. Operations manage schedules, cadets, and staff time, take basic notes on events, and ensure that opportunities are not missed.
Cadet ESN Abigail Navarro
The Admin Officer (ADM) in the our NJROTC unit is responsible for managing the unit’s records, paperwork, and important documentation. Admin ensures that everything is organized and up to date, in net focus. The Admin Officer is important in keeping the unit running efficiently behind the scenes, supporting the staff and cadets by providing accurate information and maintaining clear communication.
Cadet LTJG Javier Cuevas
The Supply Officer (SUPO) in our NJROTC unit is responsible for managing all uniforms, equipment, and supplies. They ensure that every cadet has what they need to succeed, from properly fitting uniforms to necessary gear for events and training. The Supply Officer needs to be organized, keeps track of inventory, and works hard to make sure everything is ready when it’s needed.
