Sea Scouts

Sea Scout Ship 549 gives our cadets the opportunity to be involved in adventure, nautical education, and teamwork aboard Fastmast, our 40-foot ketch sailboat. Based at Long Beach Sea Base, our crew participates in a range of activities and have fun.

Every start of the school year we host Poseidon, an Aqua Olympic event that includes water competitions, like tug-of-war with boats, knot tying contests and team-building games. This event let us get to know the new cadets and help them get involved. 

Apart from sailing, members of Ship 549 also gain basic navigation, maintenance of the boat, and seamanship through practical experience.
