Goal: I can use two different strategies when solving math problems.
Reflection:
In this photo I used different equations to get the points on a graph to make sure I can do it with the different equations.
This is a photo and I used a table, graph and a drawing to show the different ways that you could figure this out
In this photo it shows that I used a visual and a table to see the changes in the patterns.
Goal: I can use two different strategies when solving math problems.
Reflection: My goal is I can use two different strategies when solving math problems. I choose this goal because then you can check your work with two different strategies to see if you got the right answer. I think that I am doing well with this goal. I have started to do it a little more than last trimester but I can definitely do more. I think that my next steps are to try and use this more often for the next trimester. I think that my math teachers can help me with this goal because in math class is most of the time the only place I do math in school.
This image is of an exit task that I did. I explained how I got the answer in words and in some pictures and numbers.
In this math warm-up I used a graph and a table to show my thinking.
The image is of my math test. I showed how I solved the problem by a graph and a table.
The image is of a math class work. There was one problem and I solved it three different ways because there could be multiple answers with whole numbers.
Goal: I can demonstrate clear understanding of a problem by showing all of my work and thinking deeply (ie. using models, words, symbols etc.)
Reflection: My goal is I can demonstrate clear understanding of a problem by showing all of my work and thinking deeply (ie. using models, words, and symbols). I chose this goal because I think it is a good idea to show all of your thinking so if you got the problem wrong you can see where you went wrong so then you can fix it the next time you have a problem like that. Some progress that I have made is that I have gotten in the habit to show all of my work if it is an easy problem because I usually mess up on easy problem because I rush and I know that I already know it so I don’t usually take my time. Some challenges is that I have tried to use multiple strategies for problems to make sure I have gotten the right answer but we have been learning about different strategies to solve things and that’s how they wanted us to find the answer. Some next steps for this goal is to use a different strategy even if they want us to use the new strategy so then you know that you got the right answer.
The picture is of my math warm-up sheet. I used two different strategies for one problem. I used pouches and coins and getting only x on one side.
This is a photo of my math homework. It shows all of the different squares that we had to figure out. Then we found the area and then used that to find the side lengths of the shape.
This photo is of my math notebook. There are multiple problems that I did in there where I used two different strategies to get the answer and make sure it was the right answer.
This is another photo of my math notebook. Again there are problems that I did two different ways in the notebook.
