Trimester 2

Goal: I can develop strategies to help me understand new vocabulary and creatively apply words to new context.

Reflection: My goal is I can develop strategies to help me understand new vocabulary and creatively apply words to new context. I choose this goal so then I can extend my vocabulary. I think that I am doing okay with this goal. I have started to apply new words to context but I definitely think that I can do more with that. My next steps are to apply new words more.

'I have done this a little. I have put vocab words in my notebook but haven't really took it to the next step and use it in a sentence yet.' This is one of my weekly goal reflections. This shows that I have learned some new vocabulary but I haven't been able to apply it to context yet.

'I used this during the war poster from lit class' This shows that I learned vocabulary and added it to a poster that was related. This shows that I am adding the new words into projects that we do in school

This document is of again my Rube Goldberg Machine reflection. I used potential and kinetic energy in the writing and explained what those are. This connects to this goal because we learned about what those mean in science recently and I used them in new context.

'I have done this a little on the 1984 vocabulary document' This is another weekly goal reflection. This shows that the words on the document are new and then the next step is to use it in new context.

Reflection: My goal is I can develop strategies to help me understand new vocabulary and creatively apply words to new context. I chose this goal because then I can extend my vocabulary. I think that I am doing well on this goal because I found a new strategies for keeping track of the vocab that I might not know when I am reading. Some challenges is that I usually leave my book at home and forget to search up what they mean or put them on the document that I made. My next steps are to keep better track and remember to search up what the words mean so then I can make more sense of the sentence.

This document is related to the goal because these are words that I didn't really know what they meant during the book. So it helped me understand what the sentence in the book meant.

The document above is of my vocabulary that I found during my independent reading which is also my self direction goal. This is related because it is all of the vocab that I don't know during my reading.
