Ready, Set...Start designing your project and collecting data
As you start thinking about a research project, refer to Key Deadlines and let your science teacher know your interest in doing a research project! Individuals or teams of two students are encouraged.

Projects should be uploaded to assigned teacher folders by April 30th. Note: May 1st by 6:00 p.m. the folders will be closed.

6-8th Grade Project Approval Form - please make sure students complete this form prior to conducting research to be eligible for nomination to the regional level.
Please note: Due to safety and ISEF guidelines for student research at the middle school level, our CVRSF is not permitting student projects using the following: Bacteria, viruses, fungi, experimenting with vertebrate animals such as fish, dogs, cats, farm animals, frogs, tadpoles etc. Research on human subjects is not permitted except when the student researcher shows how a model works.
Note: Observations of professional zoo or wildlife animal webcams are permitted.
Students are recommended by their school/division to participate in the regional middle school fair based on meeting the criteria for a complete project submission.
Our fair will nominate up to 10% of the registered projects to compete virtually in new Junior Innovators Challenge sponsored by Thermo Fisher Scientific
Projects must meet the JIC criteria posted on the website.
