NCIS Secondary Netball Championship

Tweed Heads played host to the NCIS Netball Championships earlier this week, and our school's Girls 15&U and Boys Open teams displayed determination and grit throughout a challenging day of competition. Both teams faced well drilled opposition, and notably our teams included individuals with limited or no prior netball experience that were keen to take the opportunity to have a go. Despite this, they tackled each game with enthusiasm. Mr. Ross, who accompanied the teams, was particularly impressed by their refusal to give up. He emphasised that this resilience, in the face of adversity  will undoubtedly serve them well in the future.Adding to their commendable performance, the Open Boys team achieved a well-deserved 3rd place. While the day presented its difficulties for all teams, there were also moments of brilliance. These flashes of skill provide a solid foundation upon which to build from and we look forward to developing these talents through focused training and preparation into the future.A special note of appreciation goes to Ms. Lennon, who stepped in at short notice to allow the Girls 15&U team to enter this year. Her willingness to assist ensured the girls had the opportunity to compete, and her efforts on the day are greatly valued.
