I am ecstatic to be your social work intern at the Wellness Center for the 2025-2026 school year! I am a first generation graduate who earned my Bachelors of Social Work and Master of Social Work from California State University, Fresno. My family escaped the Cambodian war and genocide and I was born in a refugee camp. We immigrated to America for freedom and to pursue the American dream. With this humble beginning, I have the passion to help others.
I have over 10 years of social services case management experiences working in child welfare and medical social work. I now would like to expand my career to becoming a School Social Worker.
Along with my professional experiences, being bicultural, compassionate and resourceful gives me the ability to connect and succeed with others, especially from a diverse community. I believe my eagerness to learn and grow would be a valuable contribution to the Wellness Center.
I'm a parent to two middle schoolers and a kindergartener. In my down time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and gathering to enjoy delicious foods.
I look forward to being able to help support students at Creekside!
With gratitude,
Neary Muong, MSW
Hello Wildcats!
I am currently interning as a social worker for the Wellness Center working under Ms. Jessica Bias. It has been such a pleasure being here in the school year so far. I am a final year student at California State University, East Bay and I am working on my Masters degree in Social Work. I plan to be certified to work in schools and also be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am passionate about helping people in all walks of life. Mental Health support is very important to me and I hope to be part of the progress your child makes in school.
Fun facts about me-
I met my husband at a local Starbucks 14 years ago. We both worked at the Starbucks on Center and Grove in Castro Valley. We had a coffee and tea themed wedding!
I don’t have children, I have two cats named Middles and Thomas. I also have a 20 year old chihuahua that has been with me the longest. I love animals and I try my best to help and advocate for them too.
Family is important to me. I am very close with my parents and my brother. I love spending the holidays with my family and joining family gatherings.
