Hello Wildcat Community!
I am very happy to be here as your school social worker. I began as the first school social worker here at Creekside during the 2017/2018 school year. I am extremely excited to open and build out the Wellness Center on campus. Creating a home for the incredible work we do is something that is important to me, our staff and school district. All Means All is the district motto and it means that we create space and welcome all students in.
I am located in the Wellness Center and often found on the black top, during nutrition break and lunch ( I love the basketball and music out there!). I am a life long Bay Area resident, mother of two wonderful boys and a graduate of Cal State East Bay, with my Masters Degree in Social Work.
I started my career in Castro Valley Unified School District as a district social worker, supporting attendance for the entire district (k-12th grade), then worked at Stanton and Proctor Elementary schools, as the Elementary Counselor. It was in elementary that I learned the most about building community and creating space. They really know how to care for each other! I spent the next four years as the social worker for both Canyon and Creekside Middle Schools. That was tough, but I realized then that I am a middle schooler for life! 2021/2022 was my first year as a fulltime Wildcat. I will always be a Stanton Star with Proctor pride and soar like a Condor, but I am truly grateful to FINALLY build a home at Creekside.
I look forward to providing individual and group counseling, creating crisis response and social emotional support plans for students and families, while collaborating with the amazing school counseling team here. I hope to cultivate a culture and understanding much more open to wellness and social emotional learning. Building up compassionate, connected and creative teens, that are ready to transition to the high school is the plan!
Please be well and reach out with any questions or concerns.
