Imagine cooking and eating tasty dishes such as pizza, omelets, parmesan garlic fries, and decorating cookies and cupcakes. These are just a few of the many foods students learn to prepare and serve in Foods 1. Students learn about ingredients, various cooking methods, knife skills, kitchen safety & sanitation, measuring, and cooking terminology.  If you love food and being in the kitchen, this is the course for you.  You will learn skills that you will use for a lifetime. Foods 2

This one semester course is designed to explore food and cooking beyond the basics. Students will have the opportunity to continue learning about food preparation techniques (that can easily be recreated at home with minimal supervision), review proper knife handling, cleanliness/sanitation standards to keep food and spaces safe, dishwashing procedures, food history, farming food distribution practices (from seed to table and the difference between industrial and sustainable farming methods), etiquette, tablescapes, and basic nutrition principles (such as the essential nutrients) to aid in better food/health/consumer choices. Yearbook (Application Required)


We call the shots in Yearbook class! Yearbook Staffers are artistic designers, dynamic photographers, investigative reporters, fact finders, and creative writers. This yearlong class produces the 2025 Yearbook. Knowledge and familiarity with technology such as cameras, Canva, and eDesign is strongly encouraged. Skills needed include communication, leadership, organization, dedication, team oriented, attention to detail, creative, collaboration, reliability, and time management. Completed application required to be considered.

Literature For Pleasure

Do you read under the covers at bedtime? Do you sneak open a novel in class? Do you like escaping to the world of ninjas, vampires, clones, and the afterlife? Are you interested in teenage topics? Then this is the class for you. Learn the strategies of great readers, and, best of all, you can read every single day without anyone telling you to stop. Even if you do not like reading, this class is guaranteed to spark an interest and turn you on to the world of books and the many adventures each one holds. This class holds over 2000 books of all different genres of books for you to read including graphic novels, comics, and informational books. This class also builds a supportive community of readers who enjoy the peace in the day to just read. You may take this class twice in middle school.

Teacher Aide/Office Aide

Students will assist teachers or the office staff with record keeping, paperwork, classroom duties, student attendance procedures, duties around campus, and other projects as assigned. Office aides will receive a letter grade, teacher aides will receive a pass/no pass grade.  Frequently Asked Questions Video

*If you choose this elective, you may be placed in a classroom or in the school office, depending on the openings available for that semester. You will not be able to choose the teacher to be placed with.

Leadership ( Application Required)

Do you have the passion to make a difference in our community?  The Leadership class is designed to help students develop leadership skills, improve school climate, and make positive contributions to the community. The class is intended for students to participate in volunteer service projects in the community.  Students will also plan, promote, and execute a variety of school activities, from brunch-times to socials, rallies, and other school-wide events.  Student Council Officers are enrolled in this class.  Leadership is a yearlong commitment. In addition, citizenship, student applications, and teacher recommendations will be considered. Some Leadership activities occur outside of the school day which students will  be required to attend.  These include our Socials on October 25th, Feb 7th, and May 9th which will be after school from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Attendance for these is mandatory.  All Leadership students need to commit to attend an informational meeting in May(Date TBD)  before the end of the school year, as well as WEB Leader Orientation  and 6th Grade Orientation  at the beginning of the year. These will take place on August 9th and August 10th. If you cannot commit to attending these, you will not be able to be in Leadership. No exceptions.  Application will be required for class admission.
