Give programming with Scratch a try
Practice your summary skills by reading and summarizing a Newsela article or a Science News for Students Article (Newsela available through September 6)
Practice your persuasive writing by choosing a topic and writing either a persuasive essay or letter using evidence and detail.
Ride a bike, go for a walk, move your body.
Find a recipe, shop for the ingredients, and bake (a great way to practice fractions)
Keep a journal or write a letter or email to a friend or family member.
Read together with a family member / Try a new genre of book. READ, READ, READ!
Participate in or create a community service or kindness project.
Play board, card, or strategy games or make your own games and play them!
Write your own play and then put it on for your family.
Show off a talent to your family and friends.
Make up your own board game - use your favorite book or activity as the idea for your game.
Clean out your closet or room. Donate the items you know longer need and/or recycle things that can be recycled.
Do some art! Try Art Hub for Kids or the How to Draw Gallery at ArtProjectsForKids.org if you’re looking for inspiration.
Move your body, try some yoga or mindfulness activities. Try Go Noodle if you’re looking for ideas on how to do this. Or do PE with Joe Wick.
Do your own Genius Project. Find something you want to know more about, ask a question, and do your own research. Use books, online resources, interview an expert, etc. Share your new-found knowledge with friends and family. Post a sign for your neighbors to see. Send a Google Slides document to your friends and family who live far away. Have some fun learning about something you care about, then share it.
Conduct your own science experiment. Look at sciencefun.org or Real Simple for some ideas. Be sure to check with your parents first.
