Abstract Self-Portraits
Central Focus
Students will learn that art can be used to express their identity and that there is not just one way to create artwork. Students will learn that thinking of different ideas and discussing with a peer can inspire more complex works of art.
"I can" Statements:
I can brainstorm my self-portrait and what two accessories I will use to express traits about myself.
I can understand new vocabulary and be able to use it to discuss my artwork.
I can demonstrate all three drawing techniques and create a few of my own techniques.
I can abstract my facial features while adding two accessories that represent myself while creating my abstract self-portrait.
