Animal Collage

Central Focus

Students will learn that art can be used for documentation and that research can be used to inspire a piece of art. Students will learn that destroying materials can lead to the reconstruction of a beautiful pieces of art.

Collage- a piece of art made by sticking various different materials such as photographs, pieces of paper, or fabric on to a backing

Habitat- the natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism. 

Space- to a feeling of depth or three dimensions

Foreground- the part of a view that is nearest to the observer 

Middle ground- the part of a view that is between two extreme positions (foregorund/background)

Background- the part of a view that is furthest to the observer

Materials:

Sketchbook, pencil, color construction paper, any newspaper/magazines that you can tear apart (please ask first before destroying), glue, scissors (optional)

Alternative:

If you don't have glue or paper to use, then you will be using google slides or google draw to complete your artwork. You still have to do all of the brainstorming but your final product will be digital.
