What is Advanced Placement?
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are college-level courses that are taken while in high school. These courses are an excellent way to prepare students for the rigor and challenges of the college experience.
Students who successfully complete an AP course have the opportunity to take the AP exam. Students who earn an exam score of 3, 4, or 5 are guaranteed college credit at all Illinois public colleges and universities. Students who take even one AP exam are 171% more likely to enroll in a four-year college or university, and are far more likely to graduate on time as well.
See below for a complete list of our AP offerings. These cover a multitude of subjects and areas of interest. All students are encouraged to meet with their counselors to determine if an AP course is right for them.
