Biome Diaries is a collection of essays and artworks contributed by a wide-range of practitioners and academicians. The content of this publication is largely curated in two ways: one set of contributions address the different aspects of design practice at Biome Environmental Solutions Pvt. Ltd and the second set of discourses are either inspired from personal inquiries or a more holistic approach towards the ecological and social responsibility, which nurtures the practices at Biome.

Primarily alluding to the art and design community, Biome Diaries are meant for all kinds of readers and enthusiasts of ecology and environment. Writing style varies to suit the individual author and reflect the chosen topic or a certain period in time, but all of them are intended to tell stories. Storytelling here has been interpreted in many forms, ranging from narrating a design process to illustrating lived experiences, mapping the transition of societal changes to building contextual inquiries and even picturisation of key intangible values of design and construction. Designed as a set of three, the diaries are titled as ‘now’, ‘then’ and ‘emergence’ and they continuously defy the conventional notion of time and context in an architectural practice.

The publication is in final stages of print and production.

Biome Archive, as of today, consists of data related to more than 90 selected projects. Furthermore, we will be sifting and organising information from across the larger database of more than 600 projects in areas of architecture, planning, and intelligent water designs. In the longer run, the archive will also curate and disseminate the works of the trust in water and waste management as well as community engagement initiatives. The archive is a collection of primary sources, like drawings, photographs, documents, models, recordings and presentations. Physical material is professionally digitized and digitally developed material is reorganised into suitable formats.
