Whether you’re joining us from home, traveling, or simply prefer online worship, we want your experience to feel smooth, connected, and spiritually nourishing. Most technical issues are easy to fix with a few simple steps. This guide offers friendly, non‑technical tips to help you get the best experience on Zoom.
On a computer, use the volume keys or the speaker icon in the corner of your screen.
On a phone or tablet, use the physical volume buttons.
Zoom has its own volume control separate from your device.
On a computer:
Click the arrow next to Mute/Unmute
Select Audio Settings
Under Speaker, move the volume slider to the right
Click Test Speaker to confirm sound
On a phone/tablet:
Zoom uses your device’s volume — press your volume buttons while Zoom is open.
Sometimes Zoom is sending sound to the wrong place.
In Audio Settings, look for Speaker and choose:
Internal speakers
Headphones
Bluetooth devices
Try switching between them.
Make sure it’s connected
Turn the volume up on the Bluetooth device itself
Try disconnecting and reconnecting
This resets many audio issues.
A quick restart often solves stubborn problems.
Move closer to your Wi‑Fi router
Ask others in your home to pause streaming temporarily
If possible, plug in with an ethernet cable for a stronger connection
Zoom works best when it’s the main thing running.
In Zoom’s Video Settings, uncheck “HD.”
This reduces strain on your connection.
A fresh connection often helps.
In the top‑right corner of Zoom, choose Speaker View to focus on the person speaking.
Hover over the video and click the three dots → Pin.
If the service includes video, Zoom may prompt you to optimize playback.
