Where It Rains Glass

Leonardo Chung
i’m from a planet
where it rains
glass, tearing spacesuit skin apart like
scissors sweeping through sheets.
where cyclones
sail across rose-colored dust,
engulfing each particle in their paths.
where even the darkness
lays horror-struck, it darts from corner
to corner, fleeing these whirlwinds.
where volcanoes
cough up their last breaths
Before submerging into the sinking soil.
where nothing
can escape its atmosphere,
holding back like a toddler
wrenching meat with its teeth.
