Baseball Season

My favorite time of the year is approaching. With the sun slowly getting warmer, the leaves coming back, and the daylight lasting longer, I can feel that springtime is upon. Spring as its own season is not particularly my favorite, but the season that I call “baseball season” is.
Baseball is the perfect sport to be played in the summer and spring. As the weather is warm and relaxing, so is baseball. Exciting and unpredictable, yet simple and relaxing at various times as well. Really giving life to its nickname “America’s pastime”.
Baseball season to me starts in April and lasts all the way through the summer into early October. This is my favorite half of the year. Once Aprile comes around everything becomes so much brighter. The trees blossom, the air feels cleaner, and the sun finally comes out. Baseball season also starts, emphasizing the long-awaited change in seasons and giving us another excuse to be outside. Not only do I love the beautiful colors and the hot weather, but the fact that I can watch baseball again both in person and at home.
While I don’t play baseball anymore, I love watching it and going to the games. There is something so relaxing about going to a midday baseball game in the summer. The warm sun beating down, the loud crowd, a good cheesesteak (I mainly go to games in Philly as that's near my hometown), and the sound of baseball being played.
The simplicity, the calmness, and the sudden surprise are why I love baseball so much. Baseball at times can be so slow, but so intriguing even in the slow moments. The slow moments give you time to appreciate the beautiful spring or summertime weather. Then, all of a sudden, a homerun ball goes flying over your head, and the crowd all stands up and screams.
Even when I'm not at the game, baseball is still great to watch. There is no better feeling than having a long day on the beach, and then coming back home to baseball. After the beach, take a shower, nap, have some food, then sit out back with my brother or girlfriend and watch the Phillies come on at 5. Sunburnt and relaxed, slowly falling back into your chair, when a home run is hit, and the sound on the TV gets loud.
Baseball season is so much more than just baseball. The entire concept of that time of year is to me the most beautiful and relaxing time of year. The beautiful weather, usually less work, and being able to watch baseball every night. Baseball fits this season so well because it is slower-paced and more relaxed, like the season itself. It's truly beautiful and I can’t wait for the season to start again.
