Step 1. Using the File Explorer (folder icon on the task bar), navigate to the BabyN folder.
The file structure on all the HUGS laptops is the same. The folders are named differently to distinguish each baby.
The pattern is This PC > [Drive:] > Users > {Local Laptop Name] > OneDrive > Documents > BabyID
Notice that the "Status" column for some subfolders shows a checkmark inside a circle, while others shows a cloud icon. The checkmark means the files in the folder are saved locally on the laptop. The cloud means they are just saved in the cloud.
Step 2. Select the "BabyN" folder. Right click on BabyN.
The folder in the example is Baby03. Your laptop will reflect your baby's study number.
The menu in Step 3 below will pop up.
Step 3. Scroll down to the OneDrive submenu with the blue cloud. Select "free up space."
Selecting this option will remove the large number of files saved in BabyN from the laptop storage but they will remain in the Cloud.
If one of these large files is ever needed again on the laptop, selecting it will cause it to download and make it available.
The Status column will change from a checkmark inside a circle to the cloud icon when OneDrive has finished clearing up space. Once the icon changes, your laptop will have space to gather data again and the problem won't come back.
