SESSION I
On 19th December 2020, CTTE Speakers Forum has inaugurated a session on the topic ‘COVID Tales’ with the special youngest guest Ms. Shibili Suhanah, Public Speaker, Mental health Advocate, COO of WISH. She spoke about her childhood experience and the way she successfully passed her life, she also gave some tips to have self-confidence and to become a good orator. Students under the theme covid tales expressed their opinion about how covid – pandemic situation changed their life and gave new experience. Finally, participants were finished their talk and the chief guest spoke about her views and the program was successfully came to an end.
SESSION II
Student Council conducted a debate on ‘Tradition Vs. Modernity’ through Google Meet on 16th January 2021 at 3.00 - 5.00 pm. The students of various departments participated enthusiastically and won prizes. First Prize was won by :

SESSION III
On the Account of Martyr’s day, Student Council and the speaker’s forum conducted an open youth talk on ‘Are there Martyrs today?' which was held on 30th January 2021 was the Chief Guest was Ms.Harine.R is a member of Soldier’s Family she shared her life experiences. Students share their opinions on martyrs and the session was helpful to the students.
SESSION IV
The first session of February month was started with an open talk which was on the topic of ‘Is the Government or the Individual to be blamed for the rising unemployability in India’. The program was started with a prayer song and guest speaker Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement officer, Softskill trainer, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women gave a common starter. The session was highly interesting by the participant's speech and quite useful for the audience to get more information.
SESSION V
The last session of the speaker’s forum had a debate on the topic ‘Will back to basics eating help?’ Chief Guest of the program was Mrs. Sridevi Jasti, Nutritionist, Organic Farmer, Entrepreneur, whole foods chef, Founder of Vibrant living. She started the program by giving some general tips related to a healthy diet and what to eat, fundamentals in our daily plate, etc. Students are very active and asked their queries to Mrs. Sridevi Jasti and the session ended with the participant's various points related to the topic.
SESSION VI
An Open talk was conducted on ‘Is Women’s Day just another day of Celebration?’ on 13th March 2021. The G-Meet started at 3.00 pm with Prayer Song and was followed by a formal welcome address, Guest Speaker Ms. Swethal Ramachandran, M.Phil, NET, Ph.D. Scholar, Dept. of Women Studies at the University of Madras gave a common starter on the topic followed by rules and regulations to be followed.
Participants were well presented on the topic of whether women’s day is just another day of celebration with various databases and information. Participants and the Audience were very interactive and cooperative. The Guest Speaker gave her final Reviews on the topic and the participants' views and ideas. Q&A session was conducted where the audience added their views and asked their Doubts about the topic.
SESSION VII
An Open Talk on ‘Will the young voters be the game changers in the 2021 State Elections?’ on 27th March 2021. The G-Meet started at 10.00 pm with Prayer Song and followed by a formal welcome address, Guest Speaker Ms. Kalaivani Ravi Advocate & Bar Council Member – Tamilnadu and Puducherry gave a common starter on the topic followed by rules and regulations to be followed.
Participants took various takes on the topic with various databases and information. Participants and the Audience were very interactive and cooperative. The Guest Speaker gave her final Reviews on the topic and the participants’ views and ideas. Q&A session was conducted where the audience added their views and asked their Doubts about the topic.
Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Chennai-11, organized a Panel Discussion on the National Education Policy 2020: Students’ Perspective on March 22, 2021 in the college premises. This event was coordinated by the IQAC and the Student Council of the college. 13 Student panelists from various disciplines like Humanities, Science, Psychology, Commerce, and Management presented their perspectives on NEP 2020. Dr. K. N. Shoba from Anna University was the moderator. The objective of the event was to make students aware of the upcoming transformative changes in higher education and thus make them active participants in its successful implementation.
The student panelists in their presentations welcomed the proposed changes of NEP 2020, like promoting native languages and imparting vocational skill training. From the students’ perspective, the interdisciplinary studies and integrated course structure with a value-based holistic curriculum along with skill training offered wider learning opportunities. However, they were apprehensive of the available infrastructure required for its effective implementation.
The moderator Dr. K.N. Shoba lauded the efforts of the institution and appreciated the student panelists for their exhaustive insights on the new education policy. In her response, she urged the student community to equip themselves with the twenty-first-century skills of Collaboration, Critical thinking, Creative thinking, and Communication.
The Road safety awareness program was held on 19th March 2021, which was organized by the Student Council of Chevalier T.Thomas Elizabeth College for Women. Mr.Vinod Kumar Kanumala, Chief Functionary, IFRS and Mrs. N. Vivetha Venkataraman, Facilities, Administration Manager and Trainer, IFRS, were invited as the resource persons of the program. The program was held as two sessions, first session from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm and the second session from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm for different streams. The program was started with the welcome address by our student council Ms. Yasmeen, then the resource persons took over the session.
They started their session with an activity. They gave questions related to road safety and asked the students to explain every question with their answers and presentations. Then they explained road signs, rule boards, markings, etc... to the students. At the end of the session, everyone was familiar and aware of the rules and regulations of road safety. The session was ended with a vote of thanks which was done by Ms. Praganitha. R.
Student Council organized a program on Human Values, gems of the world on 11th March 2021. Mrs. Shiny Susan Shabu, the Counsellor, was the chief guest of the program. The session was started with a Welcome speech given by Ms. Yasmeen followed by the guest speech. The session was very interactive when she talked about general aspects which were happening in our daily life and she spoke about her life incidents.
She mainly concentrates and spoke about humanity. She quoted “To make a difference in someone's life you don’t have to be brilliant, rich or perfect you just have to care”. She talked about ethics, gracefulness, etc. At the end of the session, she offered free counseling for the students.
Student Council in collaboration with the Fine arts club organized a program about Women’s Day Celebration on 8th March 2021. The celebration was started with a talk on ‘Nam Unavae Namaku Marundhu’ by Dr. Sathyavani, MD, Naturopathy, Chief Guest of the program. She told us the importance of Natural Herbs and Medicines to our students. She gave many tips to young women to maintain their beauty with the ayurvedic products and products used in our home.
For student's inspiration, Mrs. Chitra, a Non-teaching staff member requested to talk about their journey of life. As a part of the Program, Students of the Fine Arts Club Performed Dance, Song, and Street play.
ED Cell in Collaboration with Student Council organized Students Stall at free of cost, concerning the Women’s day celebration on 5th March 2021. This was conducted with the motto of encouraging Young entrepreneurs and developing their marketing skills. The dining room and separate classes were given to the students with a specific number of benches. Students are allowed only with the mask and gloves and also strictly maintain social distance. Many students have participated and they arranged for the food stall, cosmetics and Mehandi. Students enjoyed it a lot and purchased the items and especially they purchased the food items.
On 5th March 2021 ‘Choose to Challenge’ competition was conducted by the student council with the collaboration of the fine arts club to celebrate Women’s day. Six competition was conducted were four events in online mode and the last four events in offline mode. Students with high enthusiasm took part in all the competitions and based on the ‘Choose to Challenge’ theme, they came up with a new innovative idea and explored their talents.
On 5th March 2021, Students cheered up our former principal Dr. Hanifa Gosh on the occasion of her farewell. The student council makes all the students to stand near the lawn and also to stand in the corridor of the old building. All the floors were flooded with students and gave a big applause to show their small gratitude to our Former Principal.
The student council in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized a webinar on FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BOLD AND BRAVE via google meet on 20th February 2021. The resource person of the program was Dr.S.Gayathry, Professor, Department of Management Studies,
SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The program was open to the entire college. This is to enhance skill and capacity related to Entrepreneurship and also create awareness about various types of fund procurement choices that can be availed by Small Scale, especially for Student Entrepreneurs.
The students participated actively and interacted with the resource person and cleared their doubts with her. More than 104 Students participated in Google Meet and 20 watched in the Youtube Live Stream.
The student council planned to celebrate valentine’s day in CTTE College for Women on 15th February 2021. They have arranged for the selfie booth by decorating the tree which is situated near the stone bench with a painted tyre and some balloons and hangings. This was celebrated with the object of creating good memories among the students with their friends. This was called ‘Selfie Point’. Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal, CTTE college for women, and Mrs. Beena Thomas, Dean of students inaugurated the selfie point and happily took photos with the student council.
Since the Investiture Ceremony was conducted online, the badge pinning ceremony was organized on the College campus. Students were made to stand before the college lawn at 8.40 AM. At 9.00 AM, the ceremony started, Mrs. Beena Thomas, Dean of Students called out the council member’s name, meanwhile, Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal, CTTE College for women pinned the badges to the council members. Student Council Members introduced themselves to the students and talked a few lines about their portfolio.
On the Account of Martyr's day, Student Council conducted E- poster competition on the “Martyr’s: The path of freedom”. This is to enhance the creativity of students and also bring out their innovativeness. Google form has been created to upload the e-posters and circulated among the students and asked to submit within the stipulated period. Students were actively participated and showed their creativity in making the posters relating to Martyr’s and E-certificates issued to the winners.
Student Council organized an e-quiz “Know your constitution@ RD72” to make the students know about the Indian Constitution on republic day. E-quiz was circulated among all the students and winners received E– certificates immediately after completion of the quiz. Through this participation, students came to know about the Indian constitution and also helped them to check their knowledge related to law.
Dean of Students and Student council members organized the Voter’s day pledge on the college campus with social distancing and safety measures. The Dean of students gave a short note on the importance of voting in a democratic country like India. Students took the pledge sent by the Government of Tamil Nadu in both Tamil and English.
A Workshop was organized by the Student Council in collaboration with IQAC on 18.01.2021 and 19.01.2021 where the council met first-year students of their department via Google meet. They taught them the rules and regulations which are to be followed during the Examination with easy methods to upload their answer scripts.
As a token of gratitude to the farmers, Student Council shared Instagram reels through posters on 14th January 2021. Student Council wore the mask and recorded a video with the posters showing Tamil slogans conveying the importance of agriculture. Later, the video was posted on Instagram. The video also contains GIFs and pictures of Pongal wishes.
This is to make the CTTE Christmas celebration more interesting and make the students more enthusiastic, student council planned for CTTEian's home tour. Student Council collected Christmas decoration photos of students celebrated in their homes. Christmas trees, Starlights everything was gathered and posted as a ‘CTTEians Home tour’ on Instagram. There were more views and likes has been received, Students were enjoyed seeing their friends Christmas decorations.
Student Council made the virtual Christmas celebration more informative on the official CTTE Instagram page. They have uploaded many motivational and moral videos with a Christmas theme once in three days till New Year. Finally, a Poster has been created to rewind 2020 at the year-end with the memories of college life.
The students enjoyed the video and got motivated. They had given their comments and celebrated Xmas with the college.
CTTE celebrated its Christmas online via Gmeet and also live on youtube on 23rd December 2020. Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal welcomed the gatherings and the program began with an open Christmas carol sung by choir girls. Chief Guest Dr. John Alexander, secretary and rector of Sacred heart college, Thirupattur, he expressed his wishes. The welcome speech was given by Mrs. Mercy Silvester, Head Department of Corporate Secretaryship followed by the guest talk. He conveyed his Christmas message “Life might have ups and downs there could be changes in our life, but there is an unchanging God who is always joining with us” and advised us to be very careful in this pandemic situation.
College Chairman Honourable justice J.Kanagaraj delivered a special address and gave his blessings to all.Thiru.L.Palamalai, Managing Trustee & Correspondent, Mrs. Leelamma John, Trustee, and Mr.Sakthidhar Tumuluru, Trustee conveyed their Heartfelt wishes to all faculties and Students.
Speaker’s Forum was formed on 20th November 2020 week of November. Enthusiastic students from I, II, III years came forward to join the club. The objective of the speaker’s forum is to bring out the inner speaking talent among the students and to eliminate the fear of speaking among them.
Many students of our college who have never spoken in a crowd took part in the forum. They felt that the forum was more open and wide to all set of students. The students learned the art of speaking and felt that they have gained a lot of knowledge and skills.
The Diwali competition was conducted on overall departments. The "Diwali at Pandemic" competition was conducted to improve the students' efficiency in making quality videos and to have a safe Diwali. A special certificate is awarded to the best three videos and it is also posted on the official social media platform.
As there was a lack of physical interaction among the students and leaders, the council came up with an idea of opening an Instagram account to engage them with creative posters on various important days, to create awareness on social issues, and also to share the virtual activities planned by the leaders.
As the college was remained closed from 25/03/2020, the government is trying to open the colleges in November with adequate safety measures. CTTE College for Women was surveyed on 7th November 2021, to know the students' opinion on the re-opening of college and also their expectations regarding safety measures. It was circulated among the students and decisions will be taken based on the responses.
The CTTE Student Council organized a Leadership Training Program from 02nd November 2020 to 6th November 2020 via Google Meet. This program was organized for all student leaders of the college. The program was conducted to inculcate the leadership quality among the students and to also provide them insights to become good leaders. The entire program was organized in Google Meet. Each day the students were exposed to different aspects of leadership. E-Certificates were distributed to all the participants after completion of the program.
More than 60 student leaders participated in the program. The students felt that the program was beneficial as it covered all the topics from introduction to advanced leadership skills. They felt the program was really great as it gave them knowledge about various dimensions of leadership.
Students were asked to take the pledge via google meet. Ms. S Sruthi, President, student council, recited the pledge in English, and Ms. Soundarya, member, student council recited the pledge in Tamil.
The Investiture ceremony was conducted through the Google meet and further uploaded on YouTube. The Ceremony was started with Tamizh Thai Vazhthu followed by a choir. Dr. S.Sridevi, Principal of CTTE College for Women addressed the gatherings, and Mrs. Beena Thomas, Dean of Students formally introduced the Student Council Members 2020 and also Junior Student Council members, Department Co-ordinators, Placement Coordinators, and other club co-ordinators followed by Class representatives.
The Student Council Members took the oath. Chief Guest of the day Thiru.L.Palamalai, Managing Trustee & Correspondent of CTTE College for Women delivered the inaugural address. Finally, Dr.Hanifa Ghosh, former principal given her felicitations, and a Vote of thanks were given by Ms.Sruthi.S, President, Student Council.
