On the occasion of National Drug Awareness Day observed on August 2, 2023, the NSS volunteers along with  B.Sc. (MATHS), B.Sc.(Psychology), B.Sc.(Physics), B.Sc.(Chemistry). Police and Women Police Stations collaborated with CTTE-NSS and Maryland Library and the rally started from the college campus to Moolakadai. The National Service Scheme (NSS) of our College collaborated with the Sembium Police and organised a Drug Awareness Oath-taking ceremony on August 10, 2023, for the NSS Volunteers and BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Com. A&F  students took part. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and the Inspector of Police created awareness on drugs and administered oaths for drug awareness. The volunteers worked on the guiding and discipline committees. Nearly 352 students participated in this event.

On this event, NSS collaborated with Apollo Hospital, Aanvii Hearing Solutions and the Sight Care Foundation organizing a free medical camp for students and the public. The camp was conducted in the conference hall and the following services were provided to students and the public is general checks like height and weight, blood pressure, sugar test etc. Eye check-ups is done by Sight Care Foundation and ear check-ups are done by Aanvii Hearing Solutions more than 200 plus public and students benefited from this camp and 15 NSS volunteers participated in this camp.

our NSS volunteers attended the motivational session at  Anna University organized by The Hindu, and 14 volunteers participated. The Chief guest for this event was V. Irai Anbu IAS and writer S. Ramakrishnan gave a speech about how to achieve in life, and how to overcome failure, Overthinking, and depression were given a speech. The speech was very useful to our volunteers to overcome their fear and face life with Confidence. Refreshments were provided to all the volunteers, after lunch we had a  short meeting with our college principal Dr. S. Sridevi Mam. And NSS volunteers submitted their feedback

Name of the Event: SUMMER CAMP

NSS initiated Summer Camp for the 1st time in the History of CTTE College for Women (NSS). The camp was Scheduled from 10th May 2024 to 15 May 2024 in CTTE College. 

OBJECTIVES:

Camp activities are tools that provide for successful, healthy, and Sustainable development in the Community. It is a place for having fun, learning to work together, making choices, taking responsibility, building self-reliance, and gaining Confidence. It aimed to create awareness of self-employment. Activities included games for children, plastic wire basket making for women, Thirukural recitation 

SUMMER CAMP DAY-1 (10/05/2024) :

On day 1, the Summer Camp inauguration, the President of Erukkancheri and Kennadi Nagar Mr. Meganadhan Secretary Mr. Wilson Raj. Joined us for the inauguration, after the inauguration function, our NSS Volunteers conducted games for neighboring children like Musical chairs, Matched the items, and then were provided paper, to express their creativity through drawing. NSS volunteers Prepared Juice and Cooked Rice made Curd Rice was served for lunch 9 Volunteers were involved in this day 1 camp activity. 

SUMMER CAMP DAY-2 (11/05/2024) :

On day 2 11 NSS volunteers were present to take over the activities. Free Eye camp was conducted by Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital, perambur. Nearly 50 people benefited from this free eye camp. The Team consists of 4 members, lunch and refreshment were provided by our NSS Volunteers. They give free Coupons to the public, where the public can make use of the free consultation offer given by Dr Agarwal. NSS paid honorarium charges of Rs. 500 to each person for organizing this free eye camp 

SUMMER CAMP DAY-3 (13/05/2024) :

Women were given training in plastic wire basket making. The objective of this training is to make them have an earning for themselves Mrs. Leelavathi was invited to the camp to teach them the art of basket making. NSS provided the required materials. Nearly 10 public visited the camp, to learn this basket making. 7 Volunteers were present for day 3 of the camp. 

SUMMER CAMP DAY-4 (14/05/2024) :

The plastic wire basket-making continued, and after the break flower arrangement competition was conducted for all. Women took part with great enthusiasm, and volunteers recorded the time taken by each participant. 

SUMMER CAMP DAY-5 (15/05/2024) :

During Day 5 of summer camp wire basket weaving practice was given by Mrs.Neelavathi, neighbors participated with great enthusiasm, they learned to make baskets, also competition was conducted for the Erukanchery area children like Thirukural recitation Essay writing, etc.. our program officers Dr U Priya and Dr A kasthuri gave a speech to children about how to develop their ideas and become a successful individual in the future.. Our NSS volunteers provided lunch to the public and children. After the lunch valedictory program was started valedictory chief guest was Dr.S.Hajeema Rabiath Beevi Head of the commerce department. Our programme officers Dr U Priya and Dr A kasthuri honour the chief guest. Distributed prizes to the children, public, and NSS volunteers. Finally, our volunteers joined for a Photo session.
