AIDS AWARENESS program was conducted for all 3rd year students in their respective classrooms from 9 am to 1 pm. Stages of AIDS and ways to protect from the spreading of HIV were given as a detailed lecture, protective measures and the importance of taking an AIDS check-up was also given.
Blood Donation camp was organized by the NSS team on 6th August 2019 at T.Thomas Auditorium from 9 am to 2 pm. Doctors, Lab technicians were there to collect blood.
Staff and Students of our college and people residing in Perambur participated and offered an overwhelming response. A total of 106 units of blood were collected in the camp. The names of donors were registered and donor cards were also provided.
On 18th September 2019 as a part of dengue awareness activity, NSS Volunteers in coordination with Great General Chennai Corporation distributed Nilavembu Kashayam to the students, teaching and Non-teaching staff of the college.
FIT INDIA LIVE program was arranged in JJK Auditorium on 29th August 2019, students were made to assemble by 9.50 am. Around 700 students participated in the FIT INDIA programme. At 10 am, the programme started with the cultural events, followed by the speech given by our Honorable Prime Minister Shri. NARENDRA MODI, where he insisted on the importance of being FIT and how to keep our mind healthy. He asked the students to involve themselves in any physical activity.
He also quoted that “There is no ladder to success” each individual must try to achieve his dream. At sharp 11.25 am, students took the pledge, to be fit and will soon make India-a FIT Nation.
On 13th January 2020, NSS volunteers arranged for a seminar on National Voters Day. Mr. Azhagar Senthil Kumar from NGO (road safety & traffic rules) was the resource person, highlighted on rights and duties of citizens, and the importance to cast vote in every election.
We took a pledge that we will not share the right with anyone, and we will carry out our duty effectively.50 volunteers have participated in this seminar.
On 30th September 2019, awareness on Organ and Full Body Donation was arranged in association with Rajiv Gandhi Chronic Disease Health care, many doctors from various Hospitals addressed the students on the importance of Organ and Full Body Donation.
As a part of Poshan Abhiyan, NSS volunteers arranged for an informative speech on the importance of consuming nutritious food and a balanced diet, On September 9, 2019 during the morning assembly. The speech was delivered by Mr. Aravind, A Nutrition Coach. On September 10, 2019, NSS Volunteers formed a human chain near the main gate of the CTTE campus, Charts were displayed to create awareness on Obesity, Organic food, etc.
NSS Special Camp was Inaugurated on 25.01.2020 at Chinnambedu, Siruvapuri by Dr. G. Bhaskaran NSS Co-ordinator, University of Madras. Mrs.Jhansi Rani, Village President of Sholavaram Panchyat, Mrs. Latha Head Mistress of Primary School were the Special Invitees. Dr.R.Meenakshi Vice Principal of CTTE College for women gave the special address.
Following activities were done by our NSS volunteers:
NSS volunteers and Programme Officers gathered at Sholavaram Panchyat Primary School, Chinnambedu to celebrate our 71st Republic day, Mr. Raja hoisted the flag and addressed the students and volunteers. The alumnae of the school donated books and other stationeries to the students. Our volunteers donated and planted saplings.
NSS volunteers performed a street play on the topic of “SWATCH BHARAT” and also left a message on the importance of keeping their surroundings clean and its health benefits.
They also organized a rangoli competition, around 60 participated in the Rangoli competition. NSS Volunteers went on to inform about the free medical camp, while the others motivated the participants of the rangoli competition.
NSS volunteers of CTTE College for women conducted Sports day for Sholavaram Panchayat Primary School under the guidance of Dr. U. Priya, Dr.A. Kasthuri. Mrs. V. Latha school Head Mistress inaugurated the programme and wished all success to students.
A Zumba session was arranged for our volunteers. Mr. J.Thiyagarajan and Ms. M.Narayini alumni of our college trained the Volunteers in Zumba, which helped them to relax their minds and body all the NSS Volunteers and a few villagers were benefited.
The medical camp was inaugurated by Mr. Jayamohan a member of the Rotary club at “Natukotai Nagarathar Viduthi”.Technicians – Ms. Merfin and Ms. Sindhu from Indian Voluntary Blood Bank (Royapuram) checked the Blood Pressure and Hemoglobin of the Villagers and advised them about the intake of diet.
NSS volunteers engaged themselves in cleaning the campus of Cholavaram Panchayat Primary School and a Few Volunteers went for temple cleaning
A rally was started from Chinnambedu to Pudhu road carrying the message of Female child safety and preserving the farmland, and the importance of using natural manure.
NSS volunteers walked 2 Kilometres away from the residing area to spread this message of preserving agricultural land and protecting, imparting education to a female child.
A yoga session was arranged for the students of Sholavaram Panchayat Primary School of 3rd, 4th & 5th grade by our volunteers Ms. R. Pragnita and Ms. J. Mahalakshmi of II B.Sc (Mathematics).
A Road safety awareness rally was started from Chinnambedu to Ambedkar Nagar, Carrying the message of wearing helmets and usage of seatbelts. Students were advised to wear Helmets to those who were driving without them.
A street play on road safety, Women’s safety were performed by a team of II B.Sc (Mathematics). Ms.D.Karthika and Ms. V. Virmilion Aglow Mary explained the need for women safety through the demonstration of the Kavalan App for the villagers.
NSS Volunteers took the responsibility of cleaning the Murugan temple street. NSS Volunteers and the coordinator’s observed silence on Martyr’s Day.
Rally was created to spread awareness on voting rights started from chettiyar marriage hall to the government adi dravida welfare primary school, Chinnambedu.
At Chinnambedu Government Adidravidar Welfare primary School, Volunteers taught yoga, art and craft, cricket to the little ones. NSS Volunteers hosted cultural to entertain the students.
NSS special camp student team started painting the school walls carrying the message of unity.
On 01/10/2019 International seminar on Stress Management was arranged for all the final year students Dr. A. Holen Professor of Behavioural Medicine, Department of Neuroscience, Norway was the guest speaker. Students gained some knowledge about the ill effects of stress, various measures to control stress and how to avoid unnecessary stress.
NSS Volunteers of various Departments were asked to assemble in the OAT for taking “sapath “on 1st August 2019, during the STEUP hour (1.10 to 2 pm).
The Secretary Miss .S. KEERTHIKA of III B.Com (cs) made the Volunteers repeat the oath after her.
CAMPUS AND CLASSROOM CLEANING:
As a part of the Swachhta Pakhwara Programme, NSS volunteers devoted themselves for the period of eight days and engaged themselves in cleaning the campus, playground, labs and classrooms. They also carried the message on Swachhta to all the other students.
