2019-2020

The Department of French has been functioning efficiently in exposing the students to French culture. The Department aims at imparting human values in addition to enhancing language skills and creative writing skills in French and also attempts to train the students in oratorical skills. The Department has also produced University Ranks. The French Department hopes to continue its successful work in the years to come.

On 17 July 2019, French National Day was observed by students of I & II years in the French classroom. Bastille Day is a day of celebrations of French culture. A host of exceptional events like video presentations about the French revolution and singing of French songs made this anniversary an especially festive one among the students.

On 17 December 2019 La Fête Noël was celebrated by all the French students following the famous French way of decorations and a student dressed as Santa Claus. Le jour de Noel reminds us of the importance of giving and sharing. As a symbol of love and gratitude we exchanged gifts, Noel carols were sung by all the students. This day was a memorable day for the students and for the department of French.

On 3rd February 2020 a Guest Lecture was organized for the French and Softskill students at JJK Auditorium. The chief guest of the day, Mrs.Uma Maheswari.N, Assistant Professor, Department of French, SRM Arts & Science College, Kattankulathur, gave a lecture on “Les techniques de communication-FLE “.

On 04 March 2020, the Department of languages had organized the valedictory function. The respective Student Secretaries presented the annual reports for the academic year 2019-20. On this occasion Dr.Hanifa Gosh Principal was the Chief Guest, who spoke about the importance of Languages and gave away the prizes to the students who won the departmental competitions conducted in December 2019.

Department Competitions namely Pot Pourri, Quiz, Spell Bee, Mots Croises and Oratorical were conducted in August 2019.
