The Department of chemistry conducted various events to celebrate the International year of periodic table on 18th and 19th December, 2019.

▪️ To show the importance of the elements in the periodic table, students sang the ' Periodic Table Song' and ‘Periodic TablePhotoshoot’ was taken.

▪️ Intra-departmental Quiz and Inter-departmental chart making competition were conducted.

▪️ An exhibition was conducted in which students exhibited various models, projects and experiments to demonstrate various concepts of chemistry.

▪️ Ground Water Analysis Project was presented by Nigila Rajan R, Nandhini B,Vedhashree K, Pavithra P, Pavithra S,Befina S of III B.Sc. Chemistry.

Students of the department of chemistry taught the children in Athivakkam on February 29, 2020 about basic hygiene and demonstrated science concepts through experiments as part of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan program.

Students of the Department of Chemistry went to Siruvapuri village on February 28, 2020 and demonstrated basic science experiments to school children as a part of National Science day celebration.

An industrial visit was organized on December 03, 2019 to Central Leather Research Institute, Adyar. This visit gave a broad insight to students about various leather production processes.

The Department of Chemistry celebrated the International Mole Day to commemorate Avogadro’s Number through chart making on October 23, 2019.

A debate competition on the topic "2020 - Dream of Dr. Abdul Kalam Fulfilled/Unaccomplished” was conducted on October 15, 2019 as a part of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s 88^th birth anniversary celebration.

Students of III B.Sc. Chemistry conducted a ground water analysis camp on September 09, 2019 and analyzed various samples of groundwater in and around the college campus.

The activities of the year started with two inaugural guest lectures by Prof. S. Santhanam retired Professor, Loyola College and Prof. Ramesh. L. Gardas, IIT Madras followed by the release of the Aurum Club's annual newsletter ‘Catalyst’ (Vol.1) on July 27, 2019.
