Objective
The Department of Mathematics organized the Inter-collegiate Math Fest 2K23 on 6th April, 2023. Nearly 15 colleges and 52 students participated in the event.
The day began with inauguration in which Ms.V. Durga & Ms.CH.T.Kalpana, I B.Sc Mathematics gave a host performance in dancing and singing. Totally 8 competitions namely Doodle Art, PPT Presentation, Master minds, Dumbcharads, Adzap, Multiplicity, Discover Math and Posterolic were held simultaneously and Women's Christian College won the overall championship for the day.

The Department of Mathematics organized the Guest Lecture on a Glimpses of Geometry in Indian Mathematics on March 23,2023. The resource person for the guest lecture is Dr. Hema Msc, M.Phil,Ph.D, Former Professor of Mathematics in D.G Vaishnav & CTTE college,chennai.
The resource person has discussed Shulba Sutras, Kerala school of mathematics, Geometric shapes(altar) and Suggested a book to read.The entire program was very informative and useful for the participants. Thank you!

To know more about the freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Lal Bahadur Shashtri, and Bal Gangadhar Tilak and how they struggled to get freedom for our country. It was a video for about one hour, it was a really informative session for everyone who attended the programme. Finally we had a photo session.

On 14th July,2022 students of the Department of Mathematics visited Vivekanandar Illam is a historical building located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was the residence of Swami Vivekananda when he visited Chennai in 1897 after his historic speech at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago. The building was donated to the Ramakrishna Mission by a devotee named R. Ranganathan in 1963, and it has since been converted into a museum and cultural center dedicated to Swami Vivekananda.
The Vivekanandar Illam houses a library, an exhibition hall, and a meditation hall. The exhibition hall displays photographs, books, and other materials related to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The meditation hall is used for conducting meditation and yoga classes. The library houses a collection of books on Vedanta, Yoga, and other spiritual and philosophical subjects.
The Vivekanandar Illam is an important cultural landmark in Chennai and a popular destination for visitors interested in the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. It serves as a center for promoting Indian culture, spirituality, and values.

To acquire knowledge on storage of water for the city, how it is used for drinking, and distribution of water to several areas.
On 13th July,2022 students of the Department of Mathematics visited Puzhal lake also known as the Red Hills Lake, is a large reservoir located in chennai. Students interacted with the officials and gathered details about the storage capacity and the role played by the reservoirs to meet the water requirement of the state.
