The International Women’s Day was celebrated at Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth college for women on March 8, 2023. The purpose of celebrating Women’s Day is – to raise awareness about the status and Dignity of Women among the students. A dance program on Women’s day was conducted and many competitions like rangoli, cooking without fire, treasure hunt, talent show etc. in which many students had participated.

Classical Dance Club Organised an Intercollegiate Bharatham-Classical Dance Competition. Ms. Tejashree B.S. II B.COM (C.S) winner of Kala Kiran Bharatham competition gave a host Performance. 

Ms. DEVA DARSHINI . S, from SRI KANYAKA PARAMESWARI COLLEGE won the First prize and 

SUGHI PRAARTHANA.M, SRM INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY won the Second prize in the Competition.

The Classical Dance Club conducted the Bharatham Dance Competition in the Intra departmental Cultural competition Kalakrian 2023 on February 17, 2023 . The Objective of the event is to bring out the traditional dance skills amidst students. Classical dance members performed the welcome dance by P.S.Dharani Chitra ll B.Sc Psychology.

The function revealed many aspects of our culture of classical dance before the audience and special guest. The judges for the Bharatham-Classical Dance, Dances of India, Western Group Dance , Retro were Mrs.Swetha Kannan, Dance Teacher, KRM Public School(CBSE), Mr.Randy, Choreographer,Rack Academy.

Classical Dance Club of CTTE College conducted a Dance competition to celebrate Krishna Jayanthi on August 20, 2022. Students from various Department registered for the competition through a circular and google form which was mailed as circular to all the students. Dr. B V Saraswathy, Assistant Professor, Department of English was the judge for the event. The competitors were judged based on their expressions, costumes, song selection, thalam & bhavam and overall impact of their dance performance. Around 5 students registered for the competition. 

Ms.AARTHI.G of  I B.COM(G) won the First Prize in the  competition.

The audition to choose the members of the Classical Dance Club was organized on for II and III Years on August 10, 2022 at JJK Auditorium. A Circular and registration link for students to register for the audition was mailed to students and II- & III-year students from all departments registered for the audition. Mrs.Jayashree, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration and Classical dance club Coordinator selected the students for the club. Around 10 students registered for the audition and enrolled themselves for the Classical Dance Club.

CTTE CLUBS Celebrated 75th Independence Day on August 13 & 15, 2022. On August 13, 2022 group dance and August 15, 2022 two solo welcome Dances were performed. On 13th August a Patriotic fusion classical group dance was Performed. The dance started with a Bharathiyar song and ended with the Oscar winning “Jai Ho” song forming the flag using flag coloured shawls. The dance was well appreciated. 

The following students performed in the classical patriotic group dance.

On August 15, 2022 the Classical Dance Club students performed the Welcome Dance, of Patriotic songs.

Report on Club Coordinator Selection:

Interview for the Coordinator selection of classical dance club was organized on July 27, 2022 in the Thomas Auditorium at 1 pm. Around 10 students registered for the coordinator Position. The selection process involved one to one Personal Interview with each and every student who registered. They were analysed and evaluated against a list of criterions. As the Classical dance club represents the Traditional art of our Country It requires a Coordinator to have good knowledge about the Dance form, Bharathanatyam so as to plan and organise programmes effectively by not compromising the aesthetics  and values of the classical dance form. Only the student who fits the list of criteria for holding the post was chosen as club coordinator. In order to manage all Programmes and the technical work of the club effectively it was decided in consent with Dr. Deva Prasanna, Overall Club Coordinator, to choose two coordinators for the club, such as Classical Dance Club Coordinator and Classical Dance Club Technical Coordinator. 

The Criterions for selecting the coordinators are as follows:

Classical Dance Club Coordinator:  Must be a dancer, learning Experience, Performances done within college and outside college, contribution if chosen as coordinator, Interpersonal & Networking Ability, ability to coordinate the team . 

Classical Dance Club Technical Coordinator: Must be a Non-Dancer, Willing to Coordinate and work for a dancing team, Technical Knowledge-Designing Invite, Designing Poster, report writing and typing, Interpersonal skills.
