The Excel Management Club of the department organized an orientation on Capital Markets for the students of BBA and B. Com (General) and B. Com Accounting and Finance on April 26, 2022. The Resource Person Mr.Glenn, Director of Finmark gave a deep insight into the concepts of Capital Markets, Mutual funds, analysis and valuation of shares, and how stock markets function etc., He emphasized that women students have to invest in mutual funds and shares. The Resource Person also gave an overview of electronic trading of shares, silver, gold and real estate. He also explained the significance of the Money Control App and illustrated how to use it to understand the basic knowledge about the stock market. There was a question and answer session at the end of the program. By interacting with the Speaker, students were able to clear their doubts.

Dr. Gayathry has been the resource person for various workshops and has been a panellist for National Seminars and received awards for Best Paper Presentation & Best Teach.

Centre for Student Development and Department of Business Administration in association with IEDP-EDII HUB, University of Madras organized a visit to the IIT M Incubation Cell on 19th March 2022. Members of the Centre of Student Development - Institution’s Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Development Cell visited the IIT Madras Incubation Cell. Incubation associates explained the procedure to apply for incubation and the support rendered by Incubation Cell to help entrepreneurs to establish their businesses. Incubators of IIT M Research Park gave brief overviews about how they translated their innovative ideas into products and services that are commercially viable at present. Students gained knowledge on Incubation, start-ups, and jobs created by them. This Incubation Cell visit kindled an interest among the students toward innovation, starting up a business, and facing the socio-economic challenges of our nation. Students also got deeper insights on how to protect their Intellectual Property Rights. By interacting with the incubators and incubation associates, students were able to clear up their doubts. Around thirty six students visited IIT M Incubation Cell.
The Department of Business Administration organized Management Day on 18th March 2022. The objective of this event was to enhance the managerial and professional skills of the Students Excel Club competitions like 'Just a Minute', ‘Paper presentation competition', 'Ad-Act and connections' were conducted. Dr. Sudha Srikanth was invited to judge the events. The Club Coordinators of the department organised this event and students from I, II and III years participated actively and won several prizes.

Brief about Expert/Speaker: Dr. J. Yogapriya is the Professor (CSE) and Dean (Research and Development) at Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology, Trichy. She is an Institute National Innovation and Start-up Policy NISP Co-ordinator and framed Kongunadu Innovation and Start-up Policy 2021 with her committee members. She is the Convener and Innovation Ambassador of Kongunadu Innovation Council (KIC) for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship culture among students and faculty members through the Ministry of Education, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), New Delhi, and secured a four star rating which is the maximum rating by IIC 3.0.

Key Highlights: The resource person explained the importance of product design and its objectives. Product and services design is based on the customer feedback and requirements of the markets. And she illustrated the webinar theme by presenting the activities of her college. She explained the eleven steps of process design for Potato chips. And most importantly, she explained the beneficiaries of different funds and schemes like NEEDS and the Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP).

'Counselling - Orientation' from the Department of Psychology in association with the Department of Business Administration was given to III years BBA students in RG-2 on 1st March 2022 from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm by Ms. Jeemol P. Bejoy, Assistant Professor. The students were briefed about psychology, the need of the hour relating to mental health, the importance of seeking help for their mental health from qualified professionals and the need for counselling. Students were administered mindfulness therapy for a few minutes, students felt calm and relaxed during the therapy.

To know the importance of seeking help for their mental health from qualified professionals
Outcome: Students were be aware of the importance of mental health, how to approach for help regarding mental health camp; counselling and counselling pass.
The students of III BBA (Batch 2019-2022) were taken to ‘Queens Land’ on 25th February 2022. In order to encourage the team spirit a day trip was organized by the department. Nearly forty students were part of this one-day trip.

Department of Business Administration in association with the Centre for Student Development (EDC & IIC) organized a field visit for BBA students on 23rd February 2022 to Sri Sai Ram Hair Industries, Manali New Town, Chennai-103.
Objective:
To make the students identify the real-time problems prevailing in the industry
To give innovative solutions by providing an opportunity to learn practically the working methods through interactions with workers, managers and entrepreneurs.
Outcome:
Around forty four students have visited the industry. The students gained practical knowledge on plant layout, location, the operation process of hair wigs and material management. Students gained industrial exposure to the manufacturing process and functions of various departments in the Hair Wig Production Unit.
73rd Republic Day was organised and hosted by the Department of Business Administration on 26th January 2022. The Republic day celebration started with the flag hoisting by Mrs. Swarna, Head, Department of Accounting Finance, and Dean of Planning, which was followed by the Republic Day message, Flag Song and National Anthem.
The Cultural activities of the Republic day celebration were planned through online mode. The prerecorded videos of the celebration were uploaded to Google Drive and the link of the drive was shared with the faculty and students. Outcome: The 73rd Republic day celebration was a team work of students under the leadership of Ms. Preethi M., Fine Arts Student Coordinator of III BBA and Ms. Chandini Santhosh, Joint Fine Arts' Coordinator of II BBA, directed accordingly by faculty members of the Department of Business Administration.
Students of Excel Management Club organized the Christmas Day celebration held on December 16, 2021 on the Lawn at the College at 8.30 am. Overall in charge of the event was Ms. M.Preethi, Cultural Coordinator. BBA students from the I, II, and III years participated in the event. Chandini Santhosh of II BBA hosted the event that contained a prayer song, a dance and ended with a vote of thanks and wishes for a merry and safe Christmas and New year.
The Excel Management Club of the department in association with the Centre for Student Development - Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution’s Innovation Cell organized a workshop on “Entrepreneurial Skill, Attitude and Behaviour Development" on 11th December 2021 through Google Meet at 4.00 pm. Mrs. Suganya Sri Venkatesh, Director, B.G. Future School, Dhrona India Academy & MBG Shakthi-Health and Wellness was the resource person.
Objective:
To develop entrepreneurial skills, behaviour, and attitude among the students. The Chief Guest presented the success story of several entrepreneurs like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk etc.
The guest speaker also shared her success story and entrepreneurial journey. The resource person gave an overview of the advantages of social media advertising for product promotion. She also discussed the ways to overcome the obstacles to becoming a successful entrepreneur. There was a question and answer session at the end of the program. By interacting with the speaker, students were able to clear their doubts. The students asked questions like how to identify business opportunities and procedures to avail financial assistance and support from the government for start-up business and the speaker answered all of their queries. Students found this session very informative, knowledgeable, and exciting. Around forty seven students benefited from this session.

The Department of Business Administration organised First Year Induction Programme for the Batch 2021-2024 from 4th October 2021 to 8th October 2021.
Objective:
To inculcate the basic etiquette, and cultures of the institution and help the students to adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment.
To orient students about various clubs and cells available in college.
The 'Induction Programme' was planned in such a way that students build bonds with peer students, seniors and faculty members. It was later followed by the 'Bridge Course' conducted by the department from 9th October 2021 to 13th October 2021.
Mrs. Kauser elaborated on the free coaching provided by the college on 'Bank Exams' by experts.

Bridge course is conducted for newly admitted students every year before the commencement of the first semester classes. Bridge Course lays a strong foundation and helps the students to grasp the fundamentals of management subjects and smoothly transit to collegiate learning.

To facilitate the students to enable them to participate in the collegiate learning process effectively
The Bridge course modules started from October 11, 2020, to October 13, 2021, for the academic year 2019-20. Module I included Business Studies, Module II included Basic Accounts, and Module III included Basic Research. The assessment was conducted on the last day of the Bridge Course.
Innovative classes for the students were also taken to Ice break and bring team building among the students. Various games and activities were conducted to make the students participate actively. Students from Non-Commerce backgrounds got introduced to the basics of Accounts and Management.
On 28th September 2021, the Excel Management Club of the department organized a PowerPoint Presentation Competition for the students.
The objective of organising this competition was to inculcate and boost corporate communication, develop public speaking, and encourage self-learning among the students.

To commemorate 'Business Women’s Day,' the Excel Management Club of the department had organised a Webinar on Financial Literacy and Resilience on 27th September 2021, at 12 pm through G Meet. Mr. Francis Felix Joseph, Financial Education Counsellor, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, was the Resource Person.
The objective of the session was to inculcate financial education among students that is vital to make smart financial decisions, effectively manage personal finances and develop resiliency.
Mr. Francis Felix Joseph emphasised the importance of savings and explored various types of savings schemes available through different financial servicing institutions. He focused on the Policies, procedures of availing Educational Loan, Fixed Deposit Scheme and Recurring Deposit Scheme, Electronic Fixed Deposit / Shares / Mutual Fund, Remittances, Power of Compounding, Immediate Payment Service offered by National Payment Corporation of India, Prime Minister Mudra Yojana, Rupay versus Visa Master Card, and availability of different insurance policies. Mr. Francis Felix Joseph also explained the process of protecting every customer from fraudulent financial activities such as fraudulent money transfers, calls, and fraudulent messages asking for OTP, CVV, PIN Number, and password. He gave clear input regarding government schemes such as PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, and PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. The speaker also enlightened the students on the significance of Financial Resilience to develop the ability to withstand uncertain life events by developing a healthy saving habit. He suggested measures such as formulating proper financial plans, building an emergency fund, and understanding spending habits to develop resiliency.
There was a question and answer session at the end of the webinar. Students clarified their doubts with the resource person. The students found the session informative and insightful. Around fifty students attended the webinar.

On the 26th of August 2021, a Craft Competition and an Essay Writing competition were held to commemorate the country's independence. II BBA students participated in the event with interest and enthusiasm.
The objectives of conducting the competition are to invoke the feeling of patriotism and also to improve the communication and creativity skills of the students.
The theme of the craft competition was National Symbols. The national flag, peacock, and Chakra were among the symbols created by the students. Ms. Anandhi A. won first place and Ms. Harini R. won second place.
The Essay Writing Competition was conducted on the theme “Development of Entrepreneurship before and after Independence.” Students wrote thought-provoking essays about entrepreneurship development after independence, as well as how the education system and innovation and creativity were curtailed during the British rule, and current government initiatives to expand innovative entrepreneurship, as well as government funding and licensing schemes for entrepreneur's growth. Ms. Larina Sara F. won first place and Ms.Dimple C. won second place.

E-Poster competition was organised on the topic “Nation First Always First” on 18th August 2021 for the III BBA students.
The competition's objective was to add value to social, economic, and political growth while taking into account equality, economic self-sufficiency, national sovereignty, and environmental protection.
The students presented ideas that began with conceptual considerations and then move to practical applications for designing, creating, and delivering effective e-posters. Nearly eight students participated in the competition. The three winners of this competition were G. Haseen Taj who won first place, J. Poornima won second place and V. Gayathri Devi won third place.
The Excel Management Club of the department had organised a virtual session on 'Stock Markets' on 5th August 2021, at 12.00 pm through Zoom Meeting. Mr. Venkata Sri Harsha, MD Shiny Projects, Certified Stock Market Analyst, was the Resource Person.
The objective of the session was to create awareness about how to invest in Indian stock markets.
The Guest Speaker emphasised on the significance of Stock Market Analysis before making investment decisions to avoid loss and consistently earn profit. He quoted real-life examples to make the students understand various financial sources and select the best source. The speaker also enlightened the students on the significance of issuing shares to the public to raise capital for establishing a business concern, which is popularly known as Initial Public Offerings (IPO). Choosing good quality IPOs is very important because in IPOs principal amount can be guaranteed even if the share price falls. He advised the students to analyze the stock market evaluate the market conditions and the company’s performance, to select the best investment option. He further highlighted the various stock exchanges in India. Bombay Stock Exchange is one of the oldest stock exchanges in Asia, established in 1875. Around 5000 companies were listed in the BSE. The National Stock Exchange has more than a thousand companies listed on its platform. The Speaker gave an overview of the Money Control App's importance and illustrated how to use it to understand the basic knowledge about the stock market. This app assists investors in gaining a better analysis of the top firm's performance and stock market ratings.
There was a question and answer session at the end of the program. By interacting with the Speaker, students were able to clear up their doubts. They asked questions like how to trade online, which firms to invest in, and how to recognize profitable companies, and the Speaker answered all of their queries. Students found this session very informative, knowledgeable, and exciting. Around 80 students benefited from the session.
