UnnathBharathAbhiyan 

UnnathBharathAbhiyan in the villages of Thirukandalam, was organized by the department of Business Administration in collaboration with NSS on March 2, 2020. The students of II BBA presented an animated video and conducted drawing competition for 4th& 5th standard students in the theme Personal Hygiene & Sanitation.  They also performed a street play   to create awareness on Personal Hygiene & Sanitation amidst the village people. A team of students from II BBA Planned & organsied the programme in an effective manner.

Motivational Talk on Women’s Entrepreneurship

On March 3, 2020, the club organized a Motivational Talk on Women’s Entrepreneurship. Mrs.C.B.Indhra, Proprietor, Silicones India was the Guest Speaker. She motivated and inspired students on how to initiate, organize and operate a business enterprise by sharing her personal experience as a women entrepreneur. She also emphasized that empowering women is the prerequisite for building a good nation and how they can strengthen economically, socially and culturally by being confident, creative and innovative.

Industrial Visit - IITM Research Park

An industrial visit to IITM Research Park India’s Leading Deep-Tech STARTUP Hub was organized on February 15, 2020, in order to achieve knowledge on Incubators, Startups and Job created by them. This visit created an instinct among the students towards the passion of innovation and to become startups to address national challenges through successful self –sustaining companies that are redefining markets

Workshop on Professional Ethics

A Workshop on Professional Ethics for Advanced Learners was organized on February 20, 2020. Dr.SudhaSrikanth, Placement Officer and Soft skill Trainer was the resource person. She spoke on how maintenance of ethical standards improve not only at professional level but also develops one’s own personality.  Students had a practical and interactive session on the effectiveness of Formal communication and Professional behavior in the organisation. Advanced Learners from III year and II year were benefitted from the workshop.

Orientation on Volunteering Services and Internships

Jaffer Jamaludeen, PR, Communication, Bhumi, NGO Organisation, conducted an Orientation on Volunteering Services and Internships was organized for BBA students on February 20, 2020. He spoke on how young volunteers are transformed into socially conscious leaders in education sectors.

Excel Management Club activities 2019-2020

It aims at moulding the student’s management skills through various activities. An Action plan was framed and student’s participation in organizing the event was encouraged and that proved to be successful. All the events went on as scheduled and students worked with high commitment and enthusiasm.

Inter-Departmental Biz-Quiz competition

The students of Excel Management club organized an Inter-Departmental Biz-Quiz competition for the students of commerce stream (B.Com (G), B.Com (CS) & B.Com (A&F) on 27th January 2020.   The purpose of the quiz contest is to develop organizing skills and to enhance and test the knowledge of the participants.

On 18thDecember 2019, 27th January 2020, Departmental competitions were organized on the Management Day. Just a Minute, Best Manager, Case Analysis, Block & Tackle, Product Packaging, and Best Tycoon of the year were the competitions conducted to enhance the professional and Managerial skills among the students.

Career Guidance Programme

On December 3 2019, A Career Guidance Programme on Advanced Tally, Banking Financial Service & Insurance was organised, for all the final year students by Mr.Jesuraj, Project Coordinator, Tech Mahindra, Mr.Anto, Manager, Tech Mahindra, Mr.Arun Kumar, Community Development Executive Our Ladys Centre, Mr.Vaishnavi, Placement Officer, Our Ladys Centre the session gave an insight on career opportunities in the financial and banking sectors.

Certificate Course

NSE certificate course on Mutual Funds. It was conducted for the students of B.B.A and B.Com Corporate Secretaryship by Mr.Glenn, Director of Finmarkon 6th, 7th, 11th and 12th of December, 2019. 57students had enrolled and completed the course successfully. This Certificate will give an edge in getting excellent career opportunities in financial sector.

Extension Activities

As a part of Outreach Programme, a workshop on “Social Values and Ethics” was organized by BBA students at St. Mary’s Boys Higher Secondary School on Oct 21, 2019. 

Career guidance programme

The club organized a career guidance programme  on September 5 2019 by prime educators for Final year BBA students. They had a deep insight on taking up the Entrance exam for higher studies such as M.B.A like CAT, XAT; Railway (R.R.B) and other exams like MAT, TANCET, Bank, SSC, and CDS. The session was very interactive and 56 students were benefitted from the program.

Industrial Visit - Sandal Wood Oil Division, Mysore

To bridge a gap between classroom and industry, The Department of Business Administration organized an industrial visit on September13th, 2019 to “Sandal Wood Oil Division, Mysore”. III BBA students study courses such as Material Management and Operations Management, so  the industrial visit will help them to gain knowledge on Production & Extraction of Sandalwood oil wherein they were  taken as a single batch 

Financial Awareness Programme

Financial Awareness Programme by Mr. Francis Felix Joseph, Regional Counselor, Disha Trust (associated with ICICI Bank) on August 28, 2019. He gave an insight on Consumer Credit, basic money management skills, usage of Debit Card and safety measures, types of   insurances and Financial Planning. Around 110 Students were benefitted from the program.

Alumna Interaction

The Excel Management Club of the Department organized Pep Talk for I BBA students. Our Alumna Shannia Miriam Christian (HR Executive) &Hussnaara.A (Alumni) gave a pep talk on her experience in college and corporate on 31.07.2019. She shared a few points on how to overcome fear and prepare for an interview. She advised the I BBA students to create their own identity in the future for the corporate. Her pep talk motivated students and it was found very interesting to build their career.
