Academic Team Meetings are made up of the students’ teachers, counselor and administrator. The Academic Teams use SRBI (Scientific Research Based Intervention) interventions to support students through regular review of student assessment and performance data. Individual students may be identified for an increased level of support in accordance with Connecticut’s SRBI framework. This support may include but is not limited to:
Identification of special research-based interventions to be implemented within the student’s regular classroom or academic access class
Referral to Student Assistance Team (SAT) for development of an intervention plan
Requirement of the student to participate in an after-school program (if available) or afterschool extra help with the teacher
Additional targeted instruction through the Math LA and Language Arts Lab
Counseling with identified support staff (school social worker/or school psychologist)
The student’s counselor will ensure that parents are aware of the child’s need for support and progress
