My experience has been interesting during this pandemic. It’s almost like I was trying out new foods. I didn’t really know what to expect. When I found out that everyone had to wear a mask everywhere it was a shock to me. At first, it looked funny but now it’s the new normal. More people are dying in the world because of this pandemic and COVID-19 caused it. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory illness in humans caused by a coronavirus, capable of producing severe symptoms and in some cases death, especially in older people and those with underlying health conditions. It was originally identified in China in 2019 and became pandemic in 2020. According to the article “Effects of COVID-19 pandemic in daily life,” it says “This pandemic has affected thousands of peoples, who are either sick or are being killed due to the spread of this disease.” (Haleem, 2020) So many people are losing their loved ones because of this. That’s why most people wear masks to prevent the virus from spreading. Not everyone has the same symptoms though so although you may feel like you don’t have it chances are you do. National Institutes of Health scientists created a vaccine to help prevent the disease from spreading. Although the vaccine is not guaranteed so that means you might still get it but the symptoms won’t be that severe. This also goes back to everyone is not the same so how the vaccine might affect others may be different for you. According to Escaping Catch-22 — Overcoming Covid Vaccine Hesitancy states that “Ms. J., who lives in New York City, had Covid-19 in April. Though she didn’t require hospitalization, the virus incapacitated her for weeks, leaving her weak and unable to tolerate solid foods; for months, she continued to become dyspneic with exertion” (Rosenbaum, 2021). Everyone has their own way of life but overall this is my experience during this pandemic and what’s going on in the world.
