‘Learn Some Teach Some’ Art Project
An innovative project designed by our school and Murude Mehmet from the Parental Engagement Team.
This project encourages parents to contribute to the schools’ Curriculum through creative workshops, which will be delivered by the parents who have accessed the art and craft workshops..
Parents complete a five week art course, learning the art of Glass, Silk, Fabric and Mosaic. They were then able to facilitate and transfer their skills to the children.
The parents planned their own lessons for each year group, creating some fabulous works of art with the help of the class teachers and teaching assistants.
Some of the artwork the children and parents have produced is displayed in both schools, which included, Lion King Mosaic Art , Chinese New Year Dragon. Glass Painting depicting Poppy Artwork for Remembrance Day. Mosaic Art depicting The Solar System in the Year 6 Corridor and Our Local Area in the Main Hall located in the KS2 Hall.
