This research project investigates the variance in energy consumption when running sorting algorithms on different versions of the Linux operating system. The study involves running Java-based sorting algorithms using Python scripts to measure energy usage and to determine how much the operating system influences energy efficiency. Data is visualized using Python graphing libraries, and statistical analyses are performed to see the differences in energy consumption across different Linux environments. These findings aim to provide deeper insight into the role of the operating system in energy usage.
