September 2025 - Dr. Suzanne Zivnuska brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience in the CSU system to her role as Dean of the College of Business at Cal State Monterey Bay. She joins CSUMB from Chico State, where she served as interim dean and previously held roles as associate dean, department chair and director of the Professional Consulting Program.
September 1, 2025 - The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and Cal State Monterey Bay signed a partnership agreement to deepen collaboration around sustainable tourism, strengthening the bridge between academic innovation and industry practice.
October 7, 2025 - SHTM seniors connected globally and gained first-hand insights into sustainable hospitality and event leadership at IMEX America’s Future Leaders Forum. This free program is designed for students who are entering their final year of a hospitality, event, or tourism management course.
October 10, 2025 - CSUMB’s SHTM program launched the Confidence Collective, a new workshop series helping students build confidence, leadership skills, and professional networks.
October 13, 2025 - Winners of the Responsible Business Innovation Lab (RBIL) Seed Grants gathered in May to share ideas, exchange insights, and discuss their ongoing research. Each faculty member presented their winning project, supported by $5,000 grants awarded this past summer. These projects highlight the diverse and innovative ways College of Business faculty are applying their expertise to advance the principles of responsible business.
October 16, 2025 - Journalist and author Jeff Greenwald joined CSUMB’s College of Business for a fireside chat on ethical travel, inspiring students to explore global citizenship with curiosity, humility, and responsibility.
October 16, 2025 - Over 40 employers joined CSUMB’s Sustainable Hospitality & Tourism Management Career Fair, linking students with top industry professionals and hands-on career opportunities.
October 16, 2025 - The College of Business held its Business Advisory Council (BAC) meeting, bringing together industry partners and community leaders to share strategic insights. These collaborative perspectives ensure our curriculum remains highly relevant, our regional partnerships strong, and our students uniquely prepared for the evolving business landscape.
November 4, 2025 - More than 300 students and agricultural professionals attended the 19th Annual Ag Jobs: Bringing a Greater Vision – Harvesting Data: Careers in Agriculture event at CSUMB on November 3, 2025. A joint effort with the College of Science and the Grower-Shipper Foundation, whose Executive Director, Lisa Dobbins, assembled an exceptional set of presenters.
May 18, 2026 - The College of Business completed a successful AACSB Mock Visit, marking an important milestone in the College’s accreditation journey.
