Graphic Organizer 

Introduction: 

This graphic organizer will allow students to open up ideas of what to aspect in this class. For this class, students will create a Concept Map with a graphic organizer tool, Popplet. Popplet is a dynamic organizational tool available on the web or as an app where users create mind maps on a board. Students will use this tool to boarded their knowledge and ideas based on the resources provided in this class. General idea if for students to gain an understanding of what sports they'll be doing for this class and later be applied for future reference, such with friends, classmates, or with family. 

Before...

Begin the graphic organizer, please look at the videos below from youtube. There are three sports involved: soccer, basketball, baseball, and football. These are common sports that should be easy to understand, but if not take your time to view the video and note what the sport is about.

So then...

• For this activity, you will work separately using  Popplet to create a Concept Map. 

  1. (When you open Popplet, you will first need to create an account before you begin; using your school or personal email work best.)

• Your content map will address one of these sports of your choice. 

• View the video, take notes, and title the sport (Ex: Running) into the Popplet tool on your concept map. 

  1. Include your name to ensure which student created the Popplet into the title box. 

• Students will provide information about the sport and answer these  5 questions that are included in the Concept Map. 

  1. What are ways to use the ball involved in this sport? 

  2. Name the position or action you prefer to play or perform. 

  3. What kind of skills are involved in this sport? 

  4. Develop a practice exercise you and someone else can do with this sport.  

  5. Name a 2 rules that must be followed in this sport? 

• For each question, give at least three answers relating to the sport.

• Your Popplet must include these questions and create a separate box to answer those questions. Your answers should be no longer than 10 words. 

• *For extra credit, have someone take a picture of you and the sports ball from these choices and perform an action with the ball and include in a separate Popplet box.
