To start to learn CAD we recommend using Tinkercad. Tinkercad has a fantastic learning centre which teaches all of the basic fundamentals through a series of starter projects. Learners can follow the tutorials and learn to CAD.
Once you have created your educator account you can set up a class for your learners. Share your class code and they can create an account (with google). You will be able to set projects for them to complete.
Learners can identify problems within their classroom and create solutions using CAD. For example learners could create a cable management clip or hooks for their headphones.
We have three Bamboo Lab A1 3D printers at CSNS.
To send your files to print you need to -
Export the STL file from Tinkercad (please ensure the design is completed and that there are no floating parts)
Rename the STL file with the Learners name and room
Email the STL file to - 3dprinting@csn.school.nz
